2022 M3 manual

Hey all -

Previously owned an e92 328i for a few years, and just got myself a 2022 G80 M3 yesterday

Had a quick question - the manual mentions there is a gear shift indicator, however, I cannot see the arrows in my instrument cluster. Does anyone have any experience in turning this on/off - or am I missing something? Picture from manual attached!

My F82 does this too - idiotic. Anytime you are going >30mph it suggests 6th gear.

lol - any idea how you got it on? I’ve gone through all settings and can’t find anything!

Also where do you see it? Is it at the bottom of the instrument cluster where it shows the gear?

I haven’t seen this on my 2022 manual.

I’ve never seen this on my 22 Manual either. Country specific? US spec here

Yes. Provides no value at all. At best its a shift indicator for fuel economy but not performance. I don't even pay attention to it.

Yep - US spec here as well.

Also, this is just from the app that I downloaded “BMW guide”. I tried looking at the owner manual through My BMW app, and made me download a separate app.

i get the upshift indicator on my 24 but never one for downshift. as people have already stated, it doesn’t serve much purpose as it’s just gonna tell you to keep up shifting until 6th for fuel efficiency.
