M3 Base Ordered

Ordered an M3 Base to replace my 2019 Porsche Carrera T (manual).

Love, love the Carrera T. Amazing car. Super engaging. However, I am losing my daily driver (gifting it to my son) and don't want to replace it. And for me the Carrera T isn't the best option for an only car. But the M3 is I think!

Placed the order with the dealer on 11/26, and got an allocation and production number on 12/5. Seems like I got pretty lucky, as I was #3 in their order bank for an M3 Sedan, they ended up getting 2 allocations for January, and one of the 2 ahead of me canceled their order.

23TN - Base M3 Manual Transmission
C4W - Skyscraper Grey Metallic
VBTQ - Tartufo Full Merino Leather

1U0- Black 19’/20’ (826M)
3M6 - Black brake calipers
3MF - Individual Shadowline lights
453 - Front ventilated seats
4MC - Carbon fiber interior trim
5AZ - Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight
7M9 - Extended Shadowline Exterior Trim
ZHK - Standard BMW emblems
ZPK - Parking Assistance Package

Now the wait begins. If anyone has an educated guess as to when I might take delivery, please let me know as I need to rent a car. Right now I am assuming I'll probably have to rent one for 4 to 5 months. But not sure.

Thanks!

I ordered mines at the end of July and it just arrived at the dock on island last week. Should be taking delivery within the next week once I return from travel.

Was yours the white stripper with 6,450 miles that sold recently?
And which dealer did you order from?

Yup! That was mine! New owner is scheduled to pickup on Thursday, which is why it’s still listed (in case for whatever reason it falls through).

Ordered from Mountain View.

Wow. Demand has fallen off precipitously. Now if it could only do the same for the new T…

Congrats. Every time I reached out to them they wanted a markup. I’ve been on another dealer’s list for an order without markup but it has taken way too long.

You mean demand for the old T, or for the M3?

New M3… as long as 991.2 Ts are trading over $100K it’s a sellers market. If you bought your T new I imagine you may have made a profit on it!

I meant demand has fallen off for the new M3, if indeed there was such a short window to get an allocation- and hoping it does the same for new 911T.

I bought it slightly used (2,800 miles) just before the car market supply chain craziness. I will sell it for more than I paid for it, but once you take into consideration taxes, the PPF, etc., it's pretty much a wash.

Could be, although most of the other dealers I chatted with had more orders in their order banks. So could be less demand, or could be I just got lucky with the timing. Not sure.
