Yup. Called my SA and he said the same thing. Car is already on the ship and ETA is oct 22.

I also used the tool in the other thread and i checked my vin and it said, "no recall" when last week i had a RAM recall. So maybe my RAM issue was fixed at the port before it left the ship?

If so, how much longer once it arrives in NJ? 2-3 weeks after 10/22?

Now i'm happy again LOL
I've attached a image of what my VIN pulls up for reference. My RAM was fixed after 7 weeks at the VPC and my car is at the dealership. I will be picking it up tomorrow. If yours says something similar then you should be good!

My stop sale was resolved after less than a week for the audio module, the status is similar as the post above. My car hit the port on the 8th and today the audio module got resolved. It's on its way to the dealer as of today. I'm surprised with the quick turn around, I was expecting months.

Crap. My vin status says, "open" still.

So i guess the car will end up at the NJ port waiting for the RAM to be resolved?

Hopefully by the time all the cars make it to the states, they have the proper parts needed to resolve a lot of the stop sales.

Crossing fingers!

Congrats! I used the tool to check my status on a whim after 8 weeks and shows me the same thing. Mine is at Baltimore VPC - CA had told me the RAM would be available this week at Baltimore.

Looks like there's another stop sale now beyond the RAM issue....
I wonder how long this will take. 9/14 build....

I've followed along with all of this but I can't recall, was it ever determined where the audio module actually sits within the car and what is involved with the retrofit? Is it removal of the dash? Is it somewhere by either the front or rear fuses?

Hearing that they are getting through 30ish cars a day at the ports makes me think it's a somewhat involve process but not as bad as a full dash removal. 🤷🏻

Just sharing my personal update. Was just told that the car will be at the dealer this week or beginning of next week. Car got to the states over the weekend and was told VPC will fix the RAM issue this week, hence "work order started" in grey. Will keep you all posted on whether it gets done as quickly as they say 👍🏼

Nice man!

My car is set to arrive at the NJ port this friday. So yes i'm curious how long it might take for my RAM issue to get resolved.

I'm worried about the 90 day rate lock i have with my dealer. And october 31st marks 90 days according to my record. I already asked my SA if they can push it to 120 days or maybe an extra 14 days at least? He said he will try.

I'm guessing that means no.

Why does anyone apply for financing before the car is fully built?

I discussed this in a previous thread.

Basically to sum it up. I didn't know any better. Before i went to the dealer the salesman said he had "one allocation left". That's what got me to the dealer to put my 1000 dollar deposit.

When i was at the dealer, i built my car (which wasn't even an in depth build since i added zero options, i just chose colors), he told me, "ok you should get the car in about a month or so". So he ran my credit, i paid the deposit and he said ok all good, i'll contact you when it's ready.

I didn't get any paperwork or an acknowledgement of what the hell i just did there at the dealership. I asked him for a print out of some sort and he printed me my build off the bmw website lol.

Got done, and was happy. Then registered to this site about a week later to show my happiness. Then people quickly informed me this was done all wrong. Because if i didn't leave that dealer with a production number, i didn't have an allocation.

Feeling angry, i contacted my SA. And he told me some shit. Probably covering his ass.

Anyway 3 weeks after that got my production number. About 4 weeks after that i went into production.

And here i am.

So i can dispute what happened 3 months ago but it'll get me nowhere.

You know why? Because if i get mad and say, no don't run my credit you shouldn't have ran it 3 months ago. He'll say, "ok so cancel your order and i'm sure we can make more money on your build anyway".

And i didn't wait 3 months for nothing.

If the car is ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks, then i have no choice but to get my credit ran again. Because if i cancel, i'm going for another car immediately, and they'll run my credit no matter what.

So yes i fucked up but i didn't know any better. I have always bought or leased cars from dealer stock.

lol nah it's all good.

I do deserve a smack in the head. Because it's a rookie move.

All the cars i bought and leased in the past and they got me with that shit. But it's done and the car will be in the NJ port this friday. I know it won't be ready for pick up by the end of the month so I HOPE, BMW or the dealer can somehow push my 90 days to 120 days.

Because technically the ball is in their court. They know the chances of me cancelling is very slim, especially since the car is almost set to be delivered.

Idk but i just wanna drive the car already. I don't even give a shit about anything else lol

To get a rate lock, and a lot of dealers won't take orders unless they know a customer can pay and/or os serious. Unless the rates are lousy and you think you'll be able to get a better rate at delivery, which isn't happening at .9%, getting the lock is always better than rolling the dice IMO. If someone's credit is at the point where a hard pull would negatively affect their rate, they shouldn't be financing $100k cars.

Still seems like BS to me. What if you're paying cash? I've never been asked for more than $1,000 deposit using my credit card to place an order. I didn't even have to do that with my G83, although I've bought all my previous BMWs from them

Another option to explore, since the car is so close to arrival by next Friday (the 29th), is to execute/sign all the paperwork to commence the lease/financing — much as PCD customers do, once the delivery date is set but hasn’t actually arrived. Slight downside is you’ll begin paying for and insuring a car not yet in your possession: RAM stop-sale may take weeks, or car gets damaged between VPC and the dealership. Your call …
