It's bmw cool at aventador pricing.

Still cool though. 50 garage queens nonetheless.

For the money. I'd rather have a 911 Speedster and still have money left over to buy a CSL. LoL

Very cool, but no doubt the CSL Hommage was even cooler. Love that they tried though. Probably as close as you can get a road legal M4 to the concept, wonder if they're losing money even with the price tag. Would bang.

Doesn't matter, you're not buying one, anyway.

Yeah, no such thing. 50 already sold at $750k is more like it. And we didn't do anything to piss of the Germans. But they have no problem telling you "we don't like you," without tell you "we don't like you." Not like this candy ass country where pancake syrup is offensive.

And for the people that love the wheels, and another dig to not adding much new to the car. These wheels already exist. These are bronze colored BMW 963M wheels in the center lock version. If you want the same design, just buy yourself a set of 963M wheels. Readily available.
Despite mentioning the cost of your car every chance you can get, I appreciate your passion and helpful input on the G80, OEM parts, and detailing. I can do without your myopic opinions on rebranding decisions attempting to correct imagery deeply rooted in racial stereotypes from the days of slavery.

The new M2 seems like the no-brainer template for this (and the normal CSL) project. - when marketing & bean counters lead a company 🙂. Still, it turned out alright! Just would have been even better on the M2.

It's too bad they did not beef up the trans as that's the limiting factor of all the current bmw manual cars.
Simply by making peak torque at the 7,200rpm redline: 550N-m @ 7,200rpm=412kW/560hp
Oh ok I was under the assumption that the manual base g8x already made 550nm across a big chunk of the rev range while only making 473 peak hp. I'll have to revisit some dyno's. It will be nice to eventually see a dyno comparison of a base vs this new 3.0 CSL showing both hp and tq curves

Really a night and day difference with the rear quarter panel. And why not do the front fender vent correctly instead of a cheap indentation?

Not really.

For those that have the financial means and can splurge on such a vehicle likely already have every car they want - this is just adding to the stable.

If you're "new money" and can likely only afford 1, maybe 2, super/hyper cars, this car likely isn't for you unless you're a die hard BMW enthusiast.

Everyone is over-analyzing this car like it is readily available and it's a "should I, shouldn't I" purchase. Yes it sucks, but this car is a garage queen type of car and there are 50 clients that look at it as such and will buy it regardless of price.

I get it but it is just not that cool or special apart from only them making 50 of them. But this is IMO, maybe some this is excellent and super unique.

Clearly a car for super rich collectors.

Well above my pay grade.

Those weight numbers refer to the OG CSL... this one is much closer to the G82 M4 CSL apparently which is odd given all the extra CF.
"With an increased displacement of 3,153 cubic centimetres and a maximum output of 151 kW/206 hp, the most powerful straight six-cylinder engine with direct injection ever used in a BMW model ensured sporty power delivery. The powerful drive system was combined with refined suspension technology. Its unladen weight was just 1,270 kilograms."

I get your point but this is from BMW's press release

I am usually fairly cynical about these limited-run marketing exercises, but I have to admit this is pretty cool. I was bracing myself to read "BMW M employed CSL-specific programming for the exclusive M-Sport 8 speed transmission to ensure rapid shifts at the touch of the paddle…". Those of you who are "save the manuals" members can imagine my joy when I read the car comes with a MT! Well-done M. I could nit pick (it would have been cool to fit analogue dials, although at least it doesn't have the giant iPad), but why bother. There will be 50 very happy BMW fans owning these cars.

Something tells me they'll end up making something maybe water down for the US.

I believe that was the weight for the old 3.0 CSL... not this new one... new one is more like 3,580 lbs.
