The question is not to know if the engine can handle 1000 + HP...it's how long it will take to ruin the engine? 10 000 miles....20 000 miles?

Making numbers on a dyno and making real world RELIABLE performance are not the same thing. Report back once you're got 50K miles on the setup. At that point you can say CONFIRMED. Nobody cares about dyno queens.

My understanding is the B58 is just as stout

Simply amazing

What ever happened to the B58/Supra project on YouTube? Interested to see what ended up happening with their tune and how reliable it was on stock internals. If their B58 didn't experience catastrophic failure, perhaps we will see similar or even better results with the S58.

- 100% stock engine is good up to about 700-750hp (that includes stock turbos, stock fuel system)
- this is where we will max out with Stage 2 tunes with catless downpipes and E85
- and this will literally cost like $1500 ($600 for BM3, $600 for down pipes)

- Up to 1050hp is possible on stock engine internals with upgraded turbos, upgraded fuel system/port injection and cooling system
- my thoughts on this point is that this will cost around 10k-12k but that's incredibly cheap for that kind of level of power
- the question here is how the transmission will handle it
It's a slushbox auto with a torque converter… it'll be fine

Transmission, differentials and even other components would be subject to more stress. This is not as easy as "let's deploy 1000hp and never look back".
THIS!! Stuff is going to break at 950-1K torque. Lol. Especially if your drag racing. Not that it can't but I will be surprised if the tranny and axles don't fail early on if your driving the car hard. Just have to be prepared to shovel out a bunch of cash when you explode shit. Motor/tranny. The damage from those failures can cause a bunch more damage and repair costs. Been there/done that. You live and learn. Other expensive parts/sensors always seem to get caught in the cross fire when stuff breaks. It blows

For the weight (AWD), takes about 800whp minimum (900+crank hp) to do that.

Stock turbo, according to this video, taps out 750 crank, 650 wheel. Not even close.

Would be great if you could tune an EV and add 500 HP over stock. Make your regular Tesla faster than plaid with a bootmod tune for $500.

My concern would be torque limit. Im sure the vehicle runs properly, but as soon as you start mashing the gas, it seems like on mostly stock internals, the engine/transmission would fail. It's awesome to see guys doing stuff like this though. Pushes the engineering, BMW wouldn't have gone so extreme on the new m4/m3 if these 3rd party groups weren't pushing them to be better. Very cool to see.

Sorry sometimes I forget that my mind will forever be stuck in race car mode… when I said this I was thinking of a G80 stripped, drag pack etc..but tbh I still feel like it will be very low 10's and still it's possible a high 9 second pass can happen but we'll have to wait until that day.

Being real and honest, the only reason I care if the S58 can hit 1000 HP without exploding, is because I know that it won't be stressed with 600 whp, which would be my target for daily, once the DME is cracked.

600 will be fine. Probably as reliable as stock. Especially if you run E-85

It will make that easy it's making almost 500 bone stock and that was before the break in lol. I'm not going to lie I'll be looking for 750+ whp as for torque I'll just apply the same concept I had with the S63TU platform keep torque low (&#128514 even though BMW's inline 6's have been proven to take abuse for many years..

If I ever decide to approach 4 digit Hp/Tq numbers I'll give Mr. Cp-Carrillo a call lol.
