Dude literally works for BMW. He knows what he's talking about. It's not a true "individual" color in the way you need to request it as he stated. These are usually called "priority individual" You get a badge but only because of how it's categorized on the backend systems.

Dravit Grey and Ivory interior are also "individual" but they're cheaper since they're priority individual.

If it's not on the website available to order, it's $4500.

Theres levels of BMW individual. Still an individual... But its ok, just because someone works for a company doesnt mean they know it all right?

I never argued levels of individual, depending on their complexity. I am arguing that X16 frozen Brilliant White is indeed an individual family color. I trust the badge which was installed by the factory, I think it’s false advertising and won’t hold up in court for them to slap an individual badge on my car when it’s not?

yes, the BMW USA build your own is often wrong. If you order that within the BMW ordering system, it is accepted without any approval just like alpine white, tanzanite blue, portimao blue, etc.

A true individual order requires approval, you can request a color on the individualizer, which may or may not be available for a particular model because that site is worldwide. Once there is an approval from the initial request, a form must be filled out with the pricing for wholesale and retail along with the paint code and name.

Someone from the dealership must sign and date the form and then send it to BMW NA. It is then processed and there can be some kick back from them if the color is no longer available. For example, Aurora Diamond Green was approved and then pulled back as it is no longer available. Same thing happed with a blue I requested that was on the individualizer from Ferrari. It was initially approved and then denied. That won't happed to your frozen brilliant white.

Once approved, the car flips from 111 or 112 to 102 (no production week). The car sits there for some time and then flips to 111 with a scheduled production week. The vehicle locks at 112 in this case.

Screenshot attached for your "individual" frozen brilliant white. I can put this on a vehicle (M3 or M4) without any of the work for a real individual color like Dakar Yellow. You'll note that there isn't any other color like that on the screenshot.

And another example, the BMW USA site has the Carbon Package on the M2 on the builder. But in the internal system, it is not avaiable.

Brother, it’s still an individual color, get over it. I understand your explanation, but it’s STILL an individual color. Maybe you want to separate individual colors into:
1: common and easily ordered
2: CA entered
3: CA entered and BMW approval

Whatever floats your boat, but x16 frozen brilliant white is and individual color according to BMW USA.

I think they were also emphasizing that the builder on the website is not always accurate once the ordering starts and sometimes these things require approval after submission.

We can also check your vehicle history with the last 7 of your VIN. In the color (paint) section it will list your paint code as X16. If it is individual, it will show as 490.

Yes, the color is great. Please enjoy it, but it is not an individual color on the M3/M4.
