Pretty sure the answer is no, but just to make sure, the 22 M3 does NOT support UWB for (un)locking via UWB-capable phones, right? UWB support is present on 23-MY onward.

I don’t think UWB (ie. Digital Key Plus) is on any G8x models, irrespective of MY.

My loaded G81 (with Comfort Access and Digital Key) is a Jan 2023 build and does not have it.

Picked up a MY24 G82 a few weeks ago. Can confirm that it has Digital Key, but not Digital Key Plus.

Checked the remote software upgrade to see if anything is available, but I am running 03/2023.50 (and assume this is a hardware change anyway).

Digital Key (non-Plus) is unusable for me, as it takes 10-15 seconds to recognize the phone is being held at the door. I've tried holding the iPhone (14 Pro) every different way, including as pictured in the BMW tutorial, and at different distances, and it continues to take a solid 10 seconds to unlock the door.

Sounds like you have a problem, either with your car, phone or configuration.

Have you got your Digital Key setup to use Express Mode?

Try holding it with the top of the phone next to the middle of the door handle, where you grab it, rather than at one of the ends.

Hey all, I just got a 2024 m3 and I only see a digital key not a digital key plus. Can anyone confirm if we have the digital key plus?

Also how do you not have to enter a password every time you drive with the phone and with the physical key in logging into idrive 8?

Any help would be appreciated

Your profile is tied to a key, if you use the second key you'll always need to input a password so use the original key you tied to the profile.

G8x does not have Digital Key Plus.

You need to pair your phone to your profile in the iDrive system, same as a regular key. It’s a tick box.

Thank you, I did but it still need a passcode if I don’t have my physical key with me. Is that the same for you?

No if I unlock my car by touching my iPhone/watch on the door handle, the car unlocks and is automatically logged into my profile.

If I unlock the car by tapping the icon in the app (as shown in the screenshot attached), it doesn’t log in automatically.

I’m headed down to my car shortly, I’ll get a shot of the profile menu as it shows in my car.

Hey yes please a picture would be nice as every time I use my phone as key when the physical key is not nearby, it prompts me to sign in. I don’t need to sign in when my physical key is with me. Thanks for your help

You need to go into the profile area of the car (tap the profile icon on the top right) and in the "Driver Recognition" area, make sure your digital key is checked.

Wow thank you! I had the digital key card not my phone set up as that so I corrected it now and no longer require my password! Thank you so much
