Galvanic Controls!
Well seems like a month wait ended up only being a couple days and they arrived!
Install was more difficult than I was expecting. A majority of my door clips actually broke, but they weren't broken enough that they didn't hold in again after. If I were doing this again I'd get a new set to replace them with (I'm not sure exactly what they are but these look very similar. There's 13 on each door). Also to mention, there are 3 screws (T25) to undo before you go pulling: One is in the storage bin, towards the back (it's open so you can use a light and poke around to find it). Another is behind a pryable plastic panel under the top of the grab bar for closing the door. A 3rd is behind the pull for opening the door, you can see a little separation for a plastic piece behind it, pry it off from the front and it'll pop off, revealing the 3rd. (will add pictures soon when I go back to install the lock controls) You really need to use a lot of force to get these off. If you have extra clips I just wouldn't worry about breaking them and just wrench it off as hard as you can. The clips easily slide in/out, or pry out with a slim trim tool/flat head from the door if they don't come with the panel. For getting the module out, I just used a flathead to push each clip through the retention piece (where it clips in) and pushed down (through it) from the button side. Once I got an entire side out (you can't get to the inside area), I just pushed hard from the button side and it popped out. The part numbers for the convertible are 61317950056 (drivers side) and 61319299457 (passenger size). The passenger side should also work for the M3 and M4 coupe, but I believe the driver side has different parts if anyone wants to provide, I'll add them here. I am now haha. I looked quickly and saw they didn't have it on the seat memory functions and trunk release, but I didn't realize the door lock/unlock. Definitely buying extra clips this time. |

Well I just ordered a set, 61317950563 and 61317950564 are the left and right. I think those should fit on all G8x models. Also ordered some new clips via the link I posted, I'll confirm whether those are correct or not when I go to install later this week. |

From the parts diagram these are the clips for the door cards.

Thank you for the write up! They look 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥! Congrats!!! I’ve been trying to look for the part number for the G8X, as you mention, hope some angel post the part number here! I have a friend with a M340i and he ruined my G80 interior… all black to me look cheap! :/
Btw in the 2025 M4 configurator you can add then as a option! |

From a quick google it *seems* like 61316847099 should be the right one, pictures show it being an electroplated version and it's listed as compatible in a few BMW parts sites I believe so. I have them on order right now, should be here tomorrow or Friday and I'll update once I receive them. |

Berzerker you don't happen to know if they make the trunk switch in galvanic? That's the one part number I'm having trouble locating
Also might want to also pick up 61319490317 that's the part number for the seat memory buttons in galvanic Part number 61319490318 is the part for galvanic memory module on the right but of course ours only have a blank panel on the passenger side. Not sure if they make a galvanic blank

I'm trying to keep it as how the 2025s have it configured, which according to the description and picture is only the window control module and the door lock/unlock. The trunk and memory seat functions are black still, even with the Galvanic option.

FWIW my G81 has galvanic window switches and lock buttons, but the seat memory and boot release are black.
Weird that M4 door is so different to M3. Last edited by MJBO; 03-13-2024 at 02:35 PM.. |

Update:
The amazon link I posted before for replacement clips work perfectly. They are a slightly different shape (a little longer) but they still hold and clip in just fine. For completion's sake, here are the three screw locations: The top two screws are behind two pop off caps Also, got the lock switches in, they fit and blend perfectly. The part numbers I posted above are indeed the correct ones To pop the lock switch out, I put my pry tool here, and twisted down (basically "rotating" towards the right) to separate the edge plastic from where the lock is, pushing from behind on the button housing, it popped right out once I bent in far enough. Final result: (I cleaned the door card after don't worry) |

They look so good, really steps the interior up. I will get these ordered and good to know about the clips, would be a bummer to get everything off then not being able to put it back on!

To change the lock you have to take off whole door cover or just that part where the handle is? |
