Was getting my first yearly scheduled maintenance today (actually can't believe I've had my G80 xDrive over a year now!) and this G80 was parked in front of me (awesome car, if you're on the forum!)

Really loved the CSL-style lights on a G80, and wondering what they are.

I found these on Bimmerplug, but wasn't sure if there were different options or manufacturers of these.

Have there been any known issues with wiring, etc.? Is one module better than another?

I would wait for the LCI , the oem ones will be cheaper to obtain after a mass production, the best aftermarket CSL taillights are probably from Jiayi, which uses the real laser tube instead of LED, but they have some sealing problems

But the M3 won’t be getting laser taillights, right? The CS doesn’t have them. Seems like only the M4 coupe gets the OEM laser taillights option.

Yeah, it looks like just the G82 is getting them. I'm seeing the G80 with front camo, with the new headlights. If they were doing anything to the rear, they would be putting camo on the back, as well. The tails on the camo G80s are the same tails that come on the car, now.

That was my understanding as well, so I'd likely have to go aftermarket either way. :/

Don't love the idea, but not totally dissuaded.

Nope you got it wrong jaiya lights have been having lots of issues with there optic lights there's no laser tubes it's the same as fiber optic lighting . What they use is failing and how I know is I have a custmers light were the lines went out and I opened it up found the optic laser light the same thing that is used in cd players failed . I managed to fix it but the cost to repair is not cost effective....

My apologies, I totally missed the M3 badge,check out vinyl designs, “jiayi” had too many issues, even tho they look pretty oem, just not worth the trouble like that m4 guy said

Thanks for the info, I will definitely check out Vinyl designs, and agree, want to do my diligence to make sure there aren't sealing or wiring issues that could present themselves.

Jerry here from Vinyl Designs 2 I ve had 3 customer come forward and all 3 has laser optic issue - the Laser Optic they use is not a good quality brand as sony or major manufactures use in there CD Players - Bet you guys didnt know that - so basically its a tiny optic laser shooting into a clear optic tube same as your fiber optic lights - I took one apart and found the issues - to fix 1 laser correctly it cost 150 so X that by 3 and you'll need new housings which they wont sell you so its a no go not cost effective to repair ..... And you wait for ever for a refund or given a partial refund or use a major credit card and claim it but all this is just a waste of time - We use a manufacture with a great warranty but we haven't had an issue yet because i've tested the lights we sale for months before selling them on our site - and trust me there's no perfect anything out there - some fail some don't just buy it from a reputable site. I have a set on hand the CSL Style for the G80 - Also you mention sealing - they all have an issue the plug area it prone to water I seal that area the lens are double checked for sealing - In all I like them I'm working with a company right now to produce our own Real CSL Replica which is in the works and cost effective - using parts that we know will last the first proto type is almost done cant wait to share it on my you tube channel

The M440i LCI just dropped and it has laser tailights. If the M340i gets it too I'd be stunned if the M3 didn't have it, especially since we get the same tail lights. I have these aftermarket ones on my G20 right now, fitment is pretty dang good but my driver's side outer has fogged a bit one morning. I wish it didn't have the "CSL" logo on it.

Ali has “BMW Laser” copy tails. Not sure they’re any better than the ones you have, except they actually say “BMW Laser”

Lets talk about Ali express and the lights that are out there - Did you know that its sold to Ali vendors in pieces then they are assembled ? Its like a crap shoot as to what your gonna get these days and if you see a price to good to be true its probably not a good ideal to buy it from that vendor ... They are having issues with new vendors using other venders photos and selling at a fraction of the price and when you receive your item its a bunch of clothing or misc. parts . Vendors selling them and something goes wrong good luck getting a refund or any type of support. Prices for the Euro Sequential Turns have sky rocketed and also the Others that look almost like the real CSL Tail Lights heading already to the 1k mark which is insane - What's causing it to soar is mainly the EURO Market according to a Manufactor .

Came here to say this. I had to reverse a charge to get $450 back. 3 times they said its processed.

The G20 LCI has been out of ages, same LED lights as pre-LCI.

G80 will not be getting Laser tails, same as F80 CS missed out on the OLED tails the F82 CS got.

Bimmerplug has scammed a lot of people here. Be careful.

For the CSL style tails, I really hate it and they look even worse on G80.

It really pisses me off that they use my car on their product page. I've requested they take it down as they're using it for marketing purposes without my permission, but it's fallen on deaf ears.

I personally purchased my set from BayOptiks, no issues with them after several months of ownership.
