The M8 is so much more a GT car and is very very fast and quick but its big and fat. Its not as fun to drive but more luxurious of course. I wrote some blurbs about my thoughts earlier and that I choose the G80 more than half the time. Its not as fast from a launch or has the top speed but its a more connected drive on the streets, turns, and overall engagement. It also doesnt sound as good as the S63tu but we all know this.
Yea, I get that they are totally different cars. The M8 coupe at least is only 2" longer than my G82 compared to I think 12" for the GC. I'll have to go back and look for your thoughts.

Yeah the coupe is much shorter than the GC but the GC is only a small bit more in weight--- bmw magic.

I like the GC better for is unique looks and lines along with it being the widest BMW ever made. Its a menace to society:

That's a beauty. I saw a GC in person recently and was amazed how sleek they make such a big car look. It's that BMW magic you were speaking of I guess... I don't have any reason for a sedan though, even if the sedan is a coupe of sorts.

Its all good and thanks for the video too. The sun came out for a quick minute today so I was able to capture this where the rear of the car gets the shine and the front stays darker:

Beautiful car, I came so close to getting this color. Your pics make it look awesome but I just couldn’t pull the trigger without seeing it IRL.

Now that you have had it for a little bit, can you share your thoughts on xDrive vs RWD?

They pretty much echo what I felt originally--- no true discernable power loss being sucked up by the front drive train. I drive it in S3 or D3 with sport plus engine and AWD Sport MDM just like my M8. The car is just as nimble also and the only "oh so slight" variance is in the steering feel because of the added front drive portion.

The only true meaningful difference is in the grip where the RWD with my Race Chip would squiggle here and there even on warmer tires while the AWD controls the power thru AWD grip. I do feel that in a rolling race, stock to stock, the RWD would pull on the AWD but not by much. Maybe a 1-2 mph max. From a dig the AWD still has some lag at times Ive felt in regards to throttle to engine response and Im comparing this to my M8 and my former AWD M5 where the response was immediate. It could be due to the tq curve which is steep up to 3k rpms and then goes flat. The Race Chip does help here.

If I was to get a third G80- I would not really care if it was X or RWD; I would get it because of a different color I live where it rarely rains and when it does, its not torrential in nature so RWD is fine too.

Ceramic and ppf serve two different purposes.

In the most basic sense:

Ceramic heightens the paint quality with shine and depth

PPF protects the paint with layer of clear product.

Thank you ... I'm getting my new M3 in a few months ... I'm going back and forth between ceramic and ppf ... I was thinking just do the full ppf because I plan on keeping the car ... what do you think?

I only skipped the ppf because I dont drive the car much and have great roads with nice weather.

If you are keeping, you should do the ceramic and its processes first and then the ppf...

I believe there are many PPF brands that you can ceramic coat. Not sure if it has the same impact on depth and gloss, just repeating what (I think) I heard.
