Def looks like distribution center, he may have been a port employee and prob was not suppose to post anything. That would be my guess, but who knows , never heard of anyone breaking in a car so was a little confused.

Car ODO has 94 miles on it from what I see in the pictures so it has been driven. I'd like to think they give press broken-in cars but one thing that doesn't make sense is why would they give the press a black on black car? You'd think they would be getting Isle of Man Green with the Kyalami Orange interior. OP could have driven the car but I'm sure anyone who was "breaking a car in" would have to sign a NDA and probably would not be posting stuff on here.

This NDA and embargo sh*t of a car already deep into production is annoying to say the least. What does it really matter if someone gives their opinion of the car? Isn’t that the whole idea of any campaign? It’s not like I’m not going to read them all anyway.

Well...whoever this is...I don't think this car is at all a press car...probably simply a dealership car that gets prepared as a demo car, this is a thing dealers often do, my dealer for example often gets a new released car as his daily at the beginning, used like a promotion and demo car...

As everyone knows that if you have such a car as demo at your dealership, everyone will floor it straigt away, so you want to reduce the risk of breaking anything and unlock the real performance for the people that come to test drive it...

BMWM wants the "right opinion" to be offered, not a VPC employee who likely is an intermediate level driver at best. Something doesn't add up, as GOLFFRR said, i've also never heard of anyone being asked to "break in a car."

So a BMW or dealer affiliate asked OP to brake in a car so it was ready to be a loaner or test drive car. BMW or dealer found out he was talking about said car and put a stop to it.
