Define "quick" when it comes to the standard rear brakes. I have not read the rear brake pads needing replacing for at least 15,000 miles on G8x's that are not tracked.

That's three years of ownership for me....outside the 3 yrs/36,000 BMW Ultimate Care + timeframe even....

i ordered a 2022 and passed on full leather because i though the lower dash stuff in silverstone was just too much grey and my car got pushed to a 2023 model and it went into production before i realized the door panels are black now

I know of 5 people that have had their rear pads replaced, already with between 13k and 16k miles. 2 cars needed rotors. Only 1 car that I know of, is tracked. If you have a 2021 RWD and hang the ass out around every corner, and the T/C is constantly making corrections, they aren't going to last long.

Sorry to revive an old thread here but I'm in the same boat atm. I was one of the first 2023s in production in Sept. I ordered the car in Jan of 2022. The dealer never mentioned any significant change like this, and I assumed I was getting Silverstone extended with door cards. I didn't opt for full leather because I didn't want the glove box + dash panel in Silverstone. So now I'm stuck with black door cards. Seriously, they decide to pull this stunt on a 90-thousand-dollar car?

I was in the same boat about finding out about the black door cards on silverstone extended too late to do anything about it on my week 31 car. I ended up passing on the car and ordered a second one with full leather.

Waited 12 months for this one—going to be very difficult just dropping the car and waiting another few months for another. *sigh* Also doesn't help BMW raised prices by $2k for 2023 productions starting Jan 1.

That’s why I posted the pics. Just get front door panels in Silverstone.

Gotcha. I thought you were saying to re-order haha. I might try asking for XX off MSRP because of the door cards to help fund the eBay ones lol.

And the ones I posted are full leather, which probably wouldn’t match the dash. You can probably find the non leather Silverstone for cheaper.

There doesn't seem to be any logic to this. I have seen some with the leather dash and door cards with the matching leather and some with the black. Then have seen the opposite with some that do not have the leather dash and door cards and have matching to the seats. My preference is for the black door cards with leather but does anyone know how BMW decides which build gets what? Early '23 still received? If it has new iDrive then black door cards?

Individual color interiors get color matched door cards regardless of full leather option. Other colors require full leather option to get the color matched door cards(and lower dash).
The configurator is accurate with what it shows for this, so you can see what colors come with the door cards by just clicking through.

Full-leather is MONEY! It's not for everyone, but damn, so nice. Once you have a car with it, its very difficult to not have it.

after sitting in two M3 back to back, one with leather door and dash then the other without... it's a no-brainer. befitting interior option of a vehicle at this price point. just a little more of improvement from it's plain jane counterpart.

Agreed wholeheartedly, as someone who's always specced extended. After a few test drives on my buddy's M3 which has full leather optioned.

There was no way I wasn't ticking that box this time around. Plus more heavenly leather smell , who doesn't love that

Just took delivery of my new 2024 M4 Competition X-Drive Coupe. This car was to be my 'toy' so I ordered all options that seemed to add value to the car for me. The only two options I didn't get were the carbon fiber seats and the ceramic carbon brakes. Since this is not a daily driver nor a full track car for me these didn't fit my needs.

I have to say that even though the price for the full leather seemed steep I am glad I got this option as I cannot believe the amount of leather in the car. The upper door panels that are black with the middle colored panels and even the entire dash is leather. That in my view is fitting for a automobile of this caliber and worth the extra money.

Same, albeit X5M. It was the easiest option to skip this time around. I just don't understand the infatuation some members have with full leather in a sporty car (especially with a black interior). To each their own though.

I'm probably in the minority on this but I find that the Kyalami interior looks better with the black door panels and lower dash trim. It's too much orange otherwise.
