To me, the G82 is one of the very best looking non-exotics on the market. Keep the grilles, please (updated insert is OK).
BMW M and the big-grille-only 4-Series crushed it in sales in 2022, so it appears that lots of actual buyers agree. |

So BMW is going to debut the CS at the end of the month then redesign the front end after showing it off? lol Also, if there were a new grill design, and we’re only a couple months away from the launch, there would certainly have been leaked pics.

The design direction as shown by the most recent CES concept and the previous suppository EV shows that they are looking at transitioning the grill to a large horizontal style that incorporates the headlights. I wouldn't be surprised if they start hinting at this with the LCI for the M3/M4 as they always start to foreshadow new models with the LCI and concepts.

Man you guys are nuts. I would not be the slightest bit surprised to see some type of change to the front end. Every M car lately has had some subtle changes to the bumper or grilles which until recently was not common.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the grille shape changes dramatically, marginally, or not at all. BMW will do as they see fit. The fact remains it is the last manual ICE M3 and will continue to sell. |

There has never been a substantial change in design, for LCI, on any previous M3. Why would they do it, now? Because some people don't like the grill?? I don't have any knowledge about how a car is taken from concept to production, but I imagine the costs are beyond my best guess. They're not going to redesign a grill simply because some don't like it.
Look at the e65 - I've always hated the design of that car, as I'm sure others have, as well. They never made changes to that one either. Yeah, different designer, but it still wasn't eye-candy. I love the g80 - the design, performance, interior updates (from f80) and tech. I've only had it for about 6 weeks and get many compliments/looks/stares/people pointing. Even non-enthusiasts comment that it looks like a "race car". It is an aggressive looking car, and the design is appropriate. I had a M340i - I don't want my M3 to look like an M340i. |

I’m glad some/many/most don’t like the grill. It’s hard enough to get one as it is.

Whether the grille has been a success or not has nothing to do with the fact that this LCI is coming with some changes. BMW is milking this G8X for longer than any previous M3 generation. People may love or hate the design, but it’s going to look old and dated in just a year or so. As a result, I believe this LCI will result in more changes than in previous generations. The CS is coming soon, but insiders are saying another special model will come later. That should be a hint IMO.

The CS will be pre-lci. Then another special CS-like LCI model will come later. The G8X will be produced so long that BMW will have time to make essentially two CS models.

G82 looks like a Ford Mustang.
