Nice M3 but the M3 is a boy's car....the M5 is a man's car. End of thread.

Absolutely no shot I'm paying over $110k for an M3..... no matter how nice the spec is (amazing spec and my fave bmw color ever made). The real LCI (headlights, taillights) comes out in about 1 year exactly. I'd only fork that amount over for a m3cs.
That is just lunacy. Go M5 without a doubt. Edit: have you heard the M5 exhaust note/pops & bangs? S58 sounds awesome, but nothing compares to a M5c. |

M5. Get some more exterior carbon bits for it to make it look a bit more aggressive or at least that's what I'd do if I had an M5.

M5. If the M3 was a manual AND didn't have the front end it has, I might say otherwise but in this comparison with that paint, M5. You will definitely enjoy it.

You want class? Prestige? along with a sophisticated front end ? Or want to be loud and obnoxious?
Sorry but the M5 is a all around performer while looking professional. I cross shopped myself, yes the m3 is a lighter car but will you be tracking it much? If you are then m3 is the answer. |

If it's a daily driver, you should strongly consider the difference in seats and suspension. Do you really want to give up a large amount of comfort for a small amount of performance?

The Jahre edition is something special and probably will retain its value, but with that said, if I had the same budget then I'd take the M5 all day because the ride quality is probably better and on a straight line it's a missile.
With that said, I wouldn't blame you for picking up the M3! I guess you should coin flip lol |

The Jahre is just a marketing ploy, which BMW was clearly successful with. I wouldn't waste my money on something that adds zero performance. Paying top dollar for a bunch of stickers and a suitcase. I would do the M5 or an M3 comp *non-Jahre* and fully option it out. Rant over… ☕️

I have an M3 comp Xdrive with carbon buckets. I've driven the M5 comp multiple times. With a 16 month old and needing practicality I'm trading it in now while the market is still semi hot on the M3's. I didn't feel like the M3 gave me enough of a difference in performance and "tossability" in comparison to the M5 to compromise on everything else the M5 provides.

Do you need the rear seat room? If you routinely carry people in the bak seat than sure, M5 all day long. If you are like me and I like a sedan for practicality of putting things in the back seat quickly versus throwing them in the trunk or taking my doberman with me (back seats and doors protected) than the extra room of the M5 doesn't really matter. Is it quicker? Yes. Is it a more sophisticated looking design? Yes. But I don't need or want a car that big. I don't necessarily want a car as big as the M3 but I do want to take my wife and 11 year old son on road trips in my car instead of always taking my wife's SUV. If the car was for me and me alone, I'd wait to see what the new M2 brings to the table or go look for a Cayman GT4 or 991 GT3.
