Well it’s confirmed. He didn’t put the PCD when I asked for it at 150 status

yea, PCD if effed in the B. They're so far behind in getting the deliveries complete. I spoke a SM at a dealer yesterday and he echoed a similar response as what my CA gave me. PCD opened up earlier then they should've for EU production deliveries as they're far behind from even the regular deliveries. Plus orders from LY that are coming to fruition now are being pushed through to PCD so they're just overwhelmed and we get screwed.

It looks like the salespeople are dropping the ball on getting people registered for PCD.

When you request PCD, the CA puts it as a request and so your VIR (Vehicle Inquiry Report) should say Assign to: PCD when you ask your CA to look into their system. It should be done BEFORE status 150 as once the production begins they are done pretty quick and shipped to port and the port varies depending on if you do PCD or not. There have been some who have been able to get it after status 150 but they had to jump through some hoops and headaches and it will delay your delivery as your car might need to be moved to a different port or assign a different ship now that you are doing PCD. Ive attached my VIR from the dealers system and this was done at order 112 when I got my production number.

Once your car hits port and its cleared by the local VPC (usually 3 days to 1 wk), then PCD sends out an email to you confirming PCD delivery and the available dates. You then get to choose the date and confirm it with PCD

Makes sense. Thanks.
Unfortunately, I would not be getting PCD this time around. Good news is I’d be getting my car sooner, probably by the end of this month

Im sorry to hear that. Yeah most CA are not familiar with the process and we as customers end up with the consequences. There r a lot of threads on this forum reg the PCD ordering experience and sadly looks like most of us might not be able to get PCD unless we order the SUV's which is stupid as who wants to drive a X5 on the track to have some fun. The offroading this isnt all that great and you could do well to skip the factory tour. You can still do the new car experience at PCD but dont know if they will be providing any more M cars at all

I received some info describing the process, but can't share the whole thing, but here is the run-down. The details of how this works are pretty clear and I'm not sure how CAs/Dealers are fumbling the bag so hard on this, but as usual RTFM!

BMW Performance Center Delivery

Before completing the Delivery Reservation Form below, please read the following guidelines along with our bulletin on CenterNet, for all details regarding the experience:

• Locate the customer's desired vehicle in your center's allocated production inventory. Reservations must be received & processed prior to the vehicle reaching Status 151.

► If you are looking for a specific delivery date, see the delivery date guidelines below to determine which vehicle in your allocation will fit the preferred timeframe.

• Modify the vehicle to include the customer's chosen options.
Mark the vehicle as "Priority 1 - Customer Sold" and assign the customer's legal first and last name to the order (legal name reflected on their driver's license). The customer's name listed on the reservation must match the name assigned to the vehicle order and the name that will be listed on the Bill of Sale.

If the vehicle will be sold to a Company, both the Company Name and the name of the customer taking delivery, must be listed on the order for the vehicle.

• Complete the online Performance Center Delivery (PCD) Reservation Form located below (Vehicle must at least be in status 111).

• PCD will process the reservations in the order received. The vehicle will be changed to Priority 9, and 00619 will be added as the alternate ship to destination. This indicates that your customer's BMW is slated for PCD.

• The client advisor will be emailed when the first available delivery date can be determined. The delivery date will be based on the vehicle's production schedule and PCD availability (we cannot process reservation forms for vehicles that are already in Status 151 or later, released to a carrier or already delivered to your BMW Retail Center).

• Guidelines for determining delivery dates, based on the vehicle's production, are listed below. Please be aware that production changes, EPA/CARB holds for new models, known shipping delays, Stop Sales, VDC Installed Accessories and PCD availability may affect this calculation.

Domestic BMW Models (South Carolina Built)
■ Delivery dates are scheduled a minimum of 2 weeks after completed production.
■ Customer must take delivery no later than 6 weeks after completed production.

Imported BMW Models
Due to inconsistent shipping times, Stop Sales and delays, we are unable to accurately determine a delivery date for imported models until they arrive in the US and are Work Order Completed by the BMW VPC at the port of entry. The following parameters would then apply.
■ Delivery Dates are scheduled a minimum of 2 weeks after the Work Order Completed date at BMW VPC.
■ Customer must take delivery no later than 6 weeks after the Work Order Completed date at BMW VPC.

From my understanding, you get the full PCD Experience minus the actual delivery when you do the New Car Experience after the fact. The delivery in their showroom is what you miss.

Did they bring back PCD for those cars made in Germany? I thought the PCD now is limited to the ones made in Spartanburg

Glad PCD is back! I'm still heavily considering it and doing a cross country trip home to California . They should really bring back Euro Delivery though!

Any additional information on this? - I just walked out of my dealership trying to finalize G80 paperwork (Status 111 currently) but they said that PCD is only available for vehicles made in Spartanburg.

I'm almost certain that they didn't even try verifying/checking if that's really true.

They’re wrong, it’s been confirmed here from other dealership employees (calbears ) that it’s available again.

When I asked me dealer about it he said they received info that it was available again so your dealer should be able to see that it is available. They will need to hurry and get it set up before you hit status 150 though

I just called the dealer today and they said that the regional rep told them it's not available unless it's a vehicle made in Spartanburg.

Call them and ask for yourself, that’ll get to the bottom of it. Though I 100% believe Calbears.

Check my post above - those are the instructions on how a CA should reserve a PCD slot for you. My order thread has even more detail, including a Bulletin # that you can reference to your dealer.

EDIT: I even attached the bulletin in that thread.

Well, this tells me you have ill-informed dealership employees trying to help you.

They must submit a request online through CenterNet. Main menu, scroll to Performance Center, Customer Delivery (they can look at the bulletin here too), then delivery reservation form
