lol I'm considering deleting some options in my planned build. The increase is just brutal. The only relief is that the stock market this week kind of offsets the increase. s**t.

Will you be able to switch configurations after an allocation is given? My CAs say no, as each are dedicated to the trim. Maybe because they want to make the sale on the pricier car. Members here say you can swap between RWD and AWD so I'm ultra confused.

For MY22, yes.

Maybe your CA doesnt want to do it or your dealer might have separate waitlist for each trim.

FU BMW....

$3,700 increase plus another couple hundred for Metallic paint and such?

Depending on what options they're throwing in as standard to help offset that price increase, I may be out....

No doubt the price hike -- especially for the Competition -- stings... especially for those who were trying to get MY22's and got bumped or delayed. And it's a little obnoxious that BMW isn't just raising the prices more uniformly (by percentage) across the board; it seems as though they're trying to react to consumer demands for specific models?

Overall, though, these price hikes are not at all surprising; I've been speculating for months that we'd see a ~5% increase, and that $3700 figure matches that almost perfectly. And keep in mind that some manufacturers have already (or will, likely) applied similar if not bigger price hikes. The Model 3 has gone through a series of price adjustments, and the base model is nearly 20% more now than it was a couple years ago.

I was considering cancelling my 22 order because I didn't get buckets…maybe I need to just keep it and eventually sort buckets

Guarantee those buckets will cost more than $3700 if you try to put them in later.

I just priced them out with parts, like 25k for both.

So now it sounds like I'm stuck with my order and sport seats unless I cancel and spend an extra 5-7k in a MY23 build.

Super disappointed with my SA, he told me they were starting production this week but didn't give me a final deadline for making changes.

I think I'm gonna go find another one with sports seats to drive and try to love them.

Didn't realize they were releasing a RWD m240i model for the 2023 model year. That's cool.... I always thought it was weird that it was only offered in xdrive.

He just said "ppl who order this cars know"…I didn't know, it's my first one.

Giving me a bad taste, almost makes me want to cancel.
I believe you had enough time to make changes to the build after you received your allocation. And there are plenty of info here that you have to zero in your spec in status 112 because it might hit 150 anyday and no changes can be made after that. So it might not be your CA's mistake.

I was under this impression too based on feedback from the forum but I have an individual order and they said it locked at 112. Really pissed off because I had 2 changes I wanted to make.

Yeah, individual orders are a whole different ballgame.

But i remember seeing a report that someone was able to make a minor change to their individual order after it was locked at 112.

All I wanted were the 50th badges and possibly the shadowline headlights.

Thats a bummer. You will be missing out the $750 discount for the individual paint without 50th anniversary emblems.

What crazy is when you are walking to the dealership and willing drop $100k on a car, and they don't even care to give you a good customers service or don't even care to sell you a car. #Long list of people are waiting for it.

I wouldn't generalize all BMW dealerships like this.

Dealers would be more than happy to sell vehicles and make more money if BMW gives them allocations. And BMW would build as many vehicles as they can if they dont have supply chain issues or component shortage.

I assume BMW give out more allocation to dealership that has a strong track record of selling cars? Unless that logic is broken!

Yes.

But when i was looking for an allocation last winter, i came across several M certified dealers in the MidWest (who does good volumes) who did not received any G80 allocations for more than 4 months.
