I had the same feeling up until just the other day. I honestly grew to hate the car. I was shopping for m2c's again and a friend of mine suggested turning the traction down before I give up on it. Now the car and I are just fully connected and it does everything I ask and a little extra. I swear it's the golden ticket for theses cars. |

I use mine as a daily driver. I was afraid that I might get tired of the 6MT dealing with frequent parallel parking on San Francisco hills. I thought the carbon seats might get old with my many short trips. In reality, if I were ordering today, I would order the same car with the same options.

If not just experiment with the tc all the way off. Don't push it too hard but feel it out. |

Autohold i believe, remains either on or off depending on whether you last had it on or off. So if you switch the car off and had autohold on itll be set to on when you next switch the car on. Likewise if you have autohold switched off. Yes re brakes. A very low speeds 1-3mph i find i barely touch the brakes and it comes to a complete standstill when I didnt want it too and yes the car also seems to do some kind of weird braking itself as if the sensors have picked something up too. I think ive got my head around it now. |

I believe autohold remembers the last state you set it to. So if you had it on when you turned your car off itll be on when you next start your car. Likewise if you set it to off.

Damn thank god I thought I was going crazy and thinking it’s just my car. That’s why sometimes I think too much tech is a blessing and a curse. I’ll def see if I have auto hold stuck on next time I go drive the car. |

I don't believe previous M cars had that capability either. Not sure about F8X but E46/E90 didn't. We have a similar 10-stage system in the race cars but none of that was standard. This was provided as part of an optional package but BMW product marketing and dealers did not adequately describe and explain the value IMO.

Ive had my G80 6 speed for about 3 months now. Ive put about 700 miles on it so far. Loving every second. I came from a F80 comp 6 speed. It has far surpassed all expections. I was unable to drive one before ordering one so I had to go blind and just order it. The car gets way more attention then my F80 ever did.

12 M's on my resume and all have been really good to great. Some had incredible engines with the S85 or S65 and others had whopping launching with strong turbo boosted engines. But is there a decathlete out there that does it all great or good to great and keeps me wanting more... maybe my E39 M5 and E92 M4 and that was it (for me). Key word "was"... the G80 has kept my yearning to drive it more and stronger. Even when I got a huge offer on my RWD G80; I only chose to leave that car because I had an X drive in my line of sight.
Im really impressed with this car and of course its subjective but my ownership is not and my personal comparos are just that personal. The grip, steering, chassis feedback, interior comforts, and that engine that rips the rpms, plus more- really has made this car desirable for so many types of drivers. Again, only dumping one car for the same car (with drive train change) says volumes. The Blood Clot Rules
