I had all my settings disappear after the update. Memory seats, M1 & M2, remote start was disabled, and the app features were disabled. Anyone else have this happen?

The only change I've noticed is the shifts in S3 feel different. When I would leave a stoplight the 1-2 upshift would sometimes shake the whole car/feel clunky, and now it seems a bit more smooth. Otherwise, the text on the infotainment display is bolder in titles — no other changes noted.

Every time, it's quite annoying also.

So after driving it extensively today for the first time since getting the update, I can 100% say the TCU/transmission programming has changed.

I drive almost exclusively in S3/Sport+/etc via my M2 settings, and this update has certainly adjusted shift timing. I used to experience a clunky, janky upshift from 1-2 after leaving a stop light and that has been eliminated almost entirely. Additionally, sometimes the upshifts would feel more DCT-like while others had a lazier, "regular" automatic upshift, but now they feel entirely consistent regardless of speed, throttle application, etc.

Pretty neat. I really enjoy this consistency.

I would second this. Even in comfort the car is much more aggressive in keeping in the right gear coming into corners after braking

Guys, BMW isn't tinkering with the transmission shift points with these updates 3 years after the car has been released. They are mostly security updates.

Did anyone else’s remote start stop working after this update?

I did the update last week and now my gesture control is super sensitive. Everytime I reach for the shift knob it either pauses or skips my audio.

typically, you have to re-authorize remote start after these updates.

Yes, I had to reauthorize remote start and reprogram M1 and M2. This normally happens with an update.

After the last update my parking assist auto-brake was switched off. Almost crashed in my own garage... This time I'll be sure to check the settings.

I usually agree with your takes, but this is absolutely untrue. You cannot tell someone their subjective driving experience hasn't changed without, you know, being that person. I drive with the same settings every time and it has without a doubt been modified since before the update. I don't even know why I'm arguing the point because it's irrelevant to me if you haven't noticed a change, but I'm pleased with the new transmission programming.

Point is, one person's take is anecdotal. There's no way to know whether or not something has actually changed without hard numbers or valid tests. For all we know your experience might be one-off or even placebo.

Glad you're enjoying the car now, but that doesn't mean that something will change for everyone or even has actually changed for you.

OK fair play. To be fully transparent I am still on the 11/2022.60 software so I should probably keep my mouth shut until I get on to 03/2023.50.

In that case, I would love to know your thoughts once you get on this software revision. If you drive in the same settings daily, and take note of issues or quirks with the manual shifting modes (for me, S3 is used near-exclusively), I would be curious to see if you note a similar change. I haven't observed any changes whatsoever in shift programming outside of the S3 mode. I do keep the car in the laziest, comfort settings on occasion and haven't noticed any differences there.

I understand this full well and agree. My argument is simply that there's little reason in lying on a car forum about a major annoyance I had with the inconsistent, clunky shifting which largely disappeared while coinciding with a new software update I received. Additionally, because I smack that M2 button pretty much every time I turn the car on, I feel like I'm relatively aware of the operating mechanics and would be sensitive to changes such as the ones I've noted.

I understand this is all incredibly trivial but I do enjoy sharing my thoughts and experiences from a position of neutrality.

I'll definitely comment on any changes. I drive daily mostly in D1 (often switch up to D3 if there is room to have some fun) with engine always in Sport Plus. Almost never use the sequential shifting so that makes sense why I haven't ever noticed anything.

That has to be the explanation. Totally different driving preferences through the various menus, options, assists, etc. I've only ever owned manual transmission cars in the past so I still crave that bit of engagement wherever I can get it, which is why I'm in S3 and Sport Plus 97% of the time.

Anyone with a 6 speed got this update?
I'd love to hear what updates were done to the base car.
