'24 G8x has different rear head rests

The ‘23 and prior models had 3 headrests in the back that all folded down. The ‘24 models have L/R headrests that are big, and do not fold. Only the center one is the type that folds down. Interesting…

I think what you’re seeing is a European spec with the fall down headrest , and then an American spec with the fixed headrest. I don’t think it has anything to do with the year.

My '22 is identical to the first pic. Only the middle headrest folds down; the other two remain fixed in place.

Take 'em out, throw them in the trunk for added visibility out the back, then throw them in when you have passengers - Just my $0.02.

My USA spec G80cx has the tall-short-tall setup in the rear. I’m thinking to try this $25 Delete Plug kit for 3 rear seat VW.

thanks for the link. i usually remove the headrests and only put them in when we have guests.

My X3M (and the X3 M40i before it) had the folding-down rear headrests. Strange that the X3 would have different headrests than the 3-series. But then, the X3's come with tinted windows in the US, but not sedans...
