I'm getting antsy. Have a deposit down and am allegedly first in line for an allocation - dealer claims to get 1-2 allocations per month.

Is the weekend of the 21st when we usually see allocations drop? Does it happen all at once, or do various dealers find out on different days?

IIRC, they are given to dealers around the last week of each month. calbears usually makes a thread about these monthly allocations.

I’d reach out to other dealers if you’re really trying to lock one in. People have had great success with a broker (Day Laborer)
I was told the same thing from my local dealer. First on the list, told over and over “we expect to get one next month”, etc. this was in June. I ended up going with an out of state dealer who had an available allocation and the car is currently sitting at port.

Awesome, appreciate it. Hoping to avoid a broker fee but if my dealership tries to delay even once I'll ask for my deposit back and hit him up

Saw your post - beautiful spec. I'm ordering a 6mt in dravit gray, would have considered if it was manual... good luck with that though sir I'm sure someone will bite soon.

I was tracking this for quite some time - usually they seem to drop between the 23rd and 25th of the month.

I also informed my CA they might've received an allocation before they told me they had - so definitely be persistent!

I spec'd a Portimao Blue 6mt that I'm not taking delivery. Hit me up if you're interested. I have no ties to it because they were not able to change the individual color that I requested.

Do dealers communicate that they are looking for certain allocations? Can’t imagine they are just randomly sent out. My dealer knows that I am waiting to order an M4 to replace my 22 that is near lease end. Do they tell Bmw they have a customer and request model specific allocations?

No, they are issued out by BMW. Dealers do not know what allocations they are going to receive. Some of the larger/higher volume dealers have an idea based on averages (1-2 per month) but they don't know exactly.

To my understanding, that is not the case. Dealers are essentially "given" allocations at random. I'm sure there is some kind of analysis that goes into which dealers get how many allocations based on demand.

Been keeping an eye out for Calbear's update too lol. My dealer didn't get any allocations last month, crossing my fingers for this month.
