It was only a matter of time they would be saying it about the M3CS.

They already did. Some forum members ripped the 2018 M3CS for price claiming they could make a CS out of "a few add add ons and a tune".

Of course they had never driven a CS and had no clue of the changes that were made by M engineers and BMW factory development drivers.

It’s very weird most dealers near NJ CT NY say they have no way to put in an order and haven’t received any info yet. They also mentioned they may get something once officially revealed. A very very few said they had an order put in.

Hmmm, so maybe not every dealer gets one? But I guess it would be odd if a dealer in that area near NYC wouldn’t get one.

Was it worth 60+ plus more than the $120k sticker on mine? Absolutely not. Are the folks in the US buying the M5 worried about Nurburgring times? Hell no we just want to shit on hellcats and red eyes and whatever the fuck else pulls up on the highway revving!!! The “exclusivity” of these CS and CSL cars is not there when BMW bastsrdizes the M logo, stickered it all over and the final nail in the coffin was giving the current M4 CSL the actual “CSL” label when it’s not deserving of it.
As I said, driving dynamics, not straight line speed or acceleration. There is more to an M car than straight line speed and the M5 CS, according to nearly every single reputable journalist, is significantly better than the standard/comp F90 M5 in regards to road feel, turn in feel, and other intangibles. My brother has an LCI F90 Comp and while it’s a straight line missile, it’s numb and not fun in any other regard. It makes me appreciate my G80 more.

BMW has demonstrated they’re capable of taking the F90 M5 and making it into a better feeling car. The G80 is plagued similarly with non-existent steering feel, but I’m hoping they work their M5 CS magic on the M3 CS and make it more fun to drive around twisties in.

At this point it makes no sense to me. Someone on the forums said every dealer gets one. Being that there are 367 dealers in the US I would assume every dealer would get at least one. How many CS G80’s are they making? I would guess that it can’t be any more limited than the CSL. Also rumor is production will go till February 2024. On this order list the dealers received shows 2024 special model. If going into production starting March as rumor has it how is it a 2024 model? Im just scratching my head and still only come to one conclusion that they did a small release and will release the rest after the official reveal.

I’m hearing every dealer gets a demo order of 1 with additional allocation to be released later, ie TBD.

This is very true as I have owned both and put 30k miles each on them.

I think the only question about the M3 CS compare to the other CS cars is:

- both the M2 CS and M5 CS were their flagship models and we saw both of them on the Ring and with development mules for a long time (M5 CS dev cars were running for years).

BMW put tons of development time in the CSL but the M3 CS has barely had any (it’s been a few months).

So the hope is, since the F90 M5 CS was a CLAR car and so is the G80, that BMW just took a lot of the knowledge/parts from the M5 CS and just copied it to the M3 CS. If they did, it’s a winner.

But just as the CSL didn’t meet expectations, don’t be surprised if this CS isn’t as good as the others were.

I can live with the center console in the CSL, it compliments the heavy carbon use, contributes to the lightweight effort and gives a serious track focused look.

You do notice no armrest on long drives + less storage at the front, no vents or usb ports/12v at the back. And the CS will probably not be that lightweight so it's a significant compromise, just smells like they wanted to reuse the part easily.

For now what do we have to bring the weight down?

- Hood
- Console
- Wheels
- Rear muffler
- ?

I’m assuming BMW is just doing a copy and paste from the CSL. Makes sense as they’re nearly the same car. Wasn’t this the case bewteeen the M4 GTS and F8x CS cars?

Nah they aren’t doing a copy and paste. The CSL has a totally different rose jointed rear axle that’s solidly mounted. They won’t do that with an xdrive car. The CSL is unique as the GTS was.

The copy and paste they would do is from the M5 CS. That’s the “copy and paste” everyone should hope they do.

I'd like to see that hood on Portimao Blue or some other blues... with just the carbon accents - I think it would look dope and I would consider adding that to my 22 I plan to keep.
I don't see BMW listing this M3 CS only 10k less than msrp of the M5 CS. I'm thinking 115k.
