YES. To the point where the headlights sit behind one giant grill.

BMW’s big “F you” to all the haters.

And it would still sell better than anything on the market. Lol

I was hoping this poll would soften the grille narrative a bit, as most people (on this forum anyway) seem to like it, myself included.

In fact, I prefer it to the CSL grille.

As a point of reference I'd look at the X3/4M LCI front bumper update. It was pretty dramatic change to the lower half of the bumper and actually improved airflow and cooling.

I don't they perfected it on the first shot with the G80. I bet the CSL improvements could come over in some form. Surprised how confident some of you are against that.

Give me an M3 with a better looking grill, a real rear brake caliper that doesn’t look like it came off a base 3-series, and a 6spd manual that hasn’t had the engine de-clawed - I’ll sell my M2C tomorrow and place an order.

But realistically, I know I’m either in the minority or not the target demo for the M3. And I’ll probably cave and buy an M3 anyway one day even if they do none of those things.

Maybe for additional ventilation to cool the large iDrive 8 CPU and huge screens.

Haven’t we realized that the B in BMW stands for going Big these days?

It’s the damn Chinese market. They like big flashy grills.

To all the people who say “grill haters” how else are going to react to a trademark of bmw being changed. I wouldn’t say I am a grill hater because from some angles and right addons it looks sick. Right when I feel that I have accepted it, I’ll see a funny angle that makes it look bad and reminds me how on point they were with the last grills.

I think mesh will look pretty cool. Also looking forward to the reduced weight and “crispier shifts” although nothing will replace my beloved DCT 🥺

I mean, they could redesign it, but everyone making the assumption that will be an *improvement* is cracking me up

Even a whole revision a la 3.0 CSL homage could look great. Need to see pics first.

But knowing bmw they'll probably just make it even bigger lol.
I don't mean to be disrespectful, but do you own a G80? Have you driven one? Seen one in person? If you don't like the grill I highly suggest you don't spend the 90K necessary to purchase one, your problem would then be solved.
What a snotty comment lol.

I've driven two, seen many and a G80 will be purchased at some point. Plan is to buy the final model year possibly sooner, def an LCI, so I have a strong interest in changes to the front end. And yes, the grill is hot trash, but I'll live with it since it's the only RWD performance sedan option w/ a manual that's out there (besides a Caddy).

Thanks for the unsolicited car buying advice though. Just what I was looking for.

Also you don't need to own a car to comment on its styling. Weird as hell that I even need to make that statement.

When has an M3 ever had a mid cycle redesign?
Not

Y’all think the reason why Bmw created the front end on the new G80 is because of the radiators that’s not accurate at all..

Bmw approved this design back in 2014 because they had no clue on what the future held and they wanted to compete in the Asian market. At the time these cars were approved Audi, Lexus had already taken the market over with radical styling from the front end.

This would be the only time you will see this type of radical styling on an M car as the next generation M cars will be electric and most likely Bmw will be going back to a smaller design.

BMW wanted a generation of cars that had radical styling to attract audiences away from Audi, lexus, Porsche so forth.

Just to give you something to do go google search the Hyundai SUV and compared to the new LCI X7..with split headlight design. The Hyundai looks exactly like a BMW at night with the same styling front end as an X7.

BMW knows the M cars are ugly. They know that people have been speaking about their cars for the past two years calling them ugly and they have been using that as a marketing tactic to get people to talk about their vehicles to purchase them.

Bmw wanted to attract new buyers and pull new customers from a business perspective model this has worked obviously.

But I will be holding onto my 2020 F82 until Bmw has calm down and they release there next generation of electric M car, which I assume well run battery cell technology.

I think the 21 and 22 will be just that because I can’t stand the 2ft long curved IPad on the dash. Even if they they wanted it that big it should have been fitted into the dash. But why one continuous piece the steering wheel blocks it. I like the way the 22 looks and feels and to me it’s better they should have just worked on the user interface and providing updates like apple does.

No need for the kinda screen in the car at all for the driver. Upgrades in lighting as standard options should be priority. Ultra bright LEDs that focus in on the road and objects that don’t blind other drives and when you have snow fog or rain the leds can gradually go from white to yellow for better visibility in inclement weather

Agreed. ADRO came out with their grille program and TBH, it looks a lot worse than the stock grilles - the grille and the bumper redesign looks terrible.

I traded my 2021 manual M4 on a new manual M3 literally yesterday lol. I’m saying the “all honeycomb” picture posted looked ridiculous compared to how the stock G80/G82 looks now.

The M2 saw some pretty substantial changes so M as a whole isn’t opposed to significant changes at LCI

I love the look of G8X right now, the grill is fine and IMO its better than 3.0 CSL.
I think LCI will only be minor headlights and some options changes no worry.

Did it really improve airflow and cooling? The pre-LCI looks like it has larger openings.
