If i hate something, i would care less to spend any time discussing or knowing more about that product. Not sure why people hating the grille would spend their time in G8x section of the forum.

This sounds exactly like the scar line on the hood is for pedestrian regulation.

No, the grill is like that because that is because they want it that obnoxious.
The middle is fake and unused. The bottom is half used by radar. And the bottom radiators have their own gaps.
Compared with previous models by dimensions is pretty much the same.
So no, is not for the radiators. Radiators breath ok thank you very much

Another thread full of nothing but unfounded speculation, hot takes, and people expressing their opinions as if they were objective facts. Never could've seen this coming!

Instead, maybe we should look to the past. No M3 has ever received newly shaped noses or butts for their LCI. Yes, the design of the lights themselves changed, but not the shape.

Besides, the car is selling like hot cakes. Do you think bmw feels the need to make a drastic change?

We’ll see. My lease is due up when these cars arrive.
e90 lci (M3) has re-shaped taillights, which necessitated new sheet metal for the decklid (trunk).

Basically amounts to a new trunk lid with different light shapes in the rear. The outer lights remain the same.

Let’s just say that if they change the M3 in any big way I’d be surprised.

I'm def in the "revision needed" camp with this grill.

I don't think it takes much to fix the problem. It just needs to be slightly smaller and better aligned with the lights + honey comb vs the slats (see attached pics).

Even a whole revision a la 3.0 CSL homage could look great. Need to see pics first.

But knowing bmw they'll probably just make it even bigger lol.

Unlikely that the grilles get bigger (or smaller). Highly doubt they will be making new bumpers for an LCI.

They probably give you the M4 CSL grille insert, update to iDrive 9, slight refresh on the headlights and taillights and call it a day.

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but do you own a G80? Have you driven one? Seen one in person? If you don’t like the grill I highly suggest you don’t spend the 90K necessary to purchase one, your problem would then be solved.

Can we stop with all the grill talk? Not you, but in general. As you saw, every thread gets invaded with grill haters. I'm over it

I feel like at this point in the thread I should just randomly add appreciation to various speculation posts, making everyone think those things could be true.

BMW did an expensive LCI for the F90 M5 with new bumper, hood and headlights, and for the X3 M/X4 M as well. It seems like they will do a major facelift for the X5 M and X6 M as well with new shape for the headlights and bumper. I think they are capable to do this for the first time for the M3/M4, but it is not certain that will happen.

That looks great! Does anyone sell a honeycomb kit? Would be nice if they left it to the bumper and offered a retrofit kit.

Honestly, I am not worried about the LCI and it's cosmetics wherever they might be implemented. I am more worried about the other things that have drivetrain or software importance. I would also be worried about de-contenting.

The reality of the situation is that the majority of the automakers are still dealing with supply chain issues and BMW is no different.

As someone who has placed an order for G80 last week, I would be paying close attention to any LCI leaks to determine if I should keep my order to delay it for LCI. My decision will be based on any potential changes in the drivetrain, power, traction control, MDM, etc and iDrive versions that are meaningful.

As far as the front end of these cars: I love the way they look entirely and this includes the grill area and the tail section. I think this is a bold design which will remain relevant and memorable in the years to come and I like that as I plan on keeping the car for at least 10-15 years.
