Sound clips will be a MUST
I was all set to order another brand intake. Now I need to have an internal debate with myself again lol Last edited by Sp2pilot; 01-11-2023 at 01:22 PM.. |

Still match the factory new car warranty on pretty much everything unless otherwise noted. The only part of the warranty that has changed in recent memory are the inline tuners (piggybacks) no longer carry the factory matching warranty. On the engine tuning front the matching factory matching warranty is applicable only with the Dinan Plus flashes. Full warranty statement can be found HERE. Second section is what mainly pertains to a car under the new car warranty (4yr/50k).
Video in the OP gives you an inkling on sound but video never does intake sounds justice -- ever IMO. Maybe we just haven't found the right equipment to pull it off though. |

Prices seem great, definitely interested if the sound and performance is there! I know a lot of us have been looking forward to better bang for your buck options.

It's not a whole new pipe -- the stock turbo inlets are re-used. Given, the passenger side one is more of an aluminum coupler then a full inlet. We opted to keep those for a few different reasons. Testing did not indicate any performance gain, complexity of mating to the turbos directly would mean multiple additional pieces and increase the cost a fair amount, and most importantly allows us flexibility with various turbos and turbo inlets down the road as the market options shift beyond what is presently available. As far as the ribbed nature itself... Like the stock system that employs multiple accordion/flex joints to account for engine movement, we did the same. The shared plenum actually makes the need more critical as both sides are linked so a larger range of motion was needed than what would be needed with separated tracts. We could have done a hard piece (CF/Plastic) and 2 silicone couplers instead (or 2 hard pieces and 3 couplers with an inlet incorporated) I suppose but that adds complexity and numerous more clamps in an already tight environment. Instead we opted for the singular ribbed coupler -- given its length even hardened rubber was too flimsy for the pressures involved and could compress to the point the tube could collapse and starve the turbo of air. So ribs with aluminum strengthening rings inserted into them are used that make the rubber couplers pliable to account for engine movement but also hard enough to the point there isn’t a risk of collapsing and causing an issue. Went through quite a few variations but for the concern of smooth vs. ribbed specifically our engineering team performed CFD analysis on both the current ribbed inlet tube and a smooth interior inlet tube. Both showed negligible differences in the mass flow rate exiting the tube. CFD was verified with both configurations on the flowbench, which also showed negligible differences. Therefore, the ribbed tube, which allows more flexibility, has no adverse effect on airflow entering the turbo. Enjoy! One note-- when installing make sure to do the cloth/towel on steps 6/7 of the installation. I can't stress the importance of that enough. It’s very easy to scratch the carbon on the tabs if you don't so just be aware. |

Technically you can not bend them if you don't want to. Just makes install a bit harder with the angles to get the full assembly down into the pocket. Definitely would make the cloth/towel covering the metal front panel 10x more important during install though.

When’s the exhaust coming. I live in Birmingham and ready to drive my 22 g80 to Opelika to pick it up or install it as soon as it’s available. Every time I check I don’t see it yet
