you need to buy bm3 first so femto can unlock the custom rom

I am in the works of finding out if my DHL will do a temporary export. I have the MHD super license already but this looks nice. Was really hoping by now after 2 years someone in the US would have figured this out by now but it seems as if we are letting the Russians win lol.

This is good news though.

On the bm3 post they said going forward Femto will be using this method I believe.

It shows you can choose bm3 or mhd etc.

Yes. You need to purchase a BM3 license, activate your bootmod3 software license, and then send your DME to Femto. We provided Femto with means to load BM3 CustomROM software along with our Transmission Limiter Bypass. Once you get your DME back from Femto, it'll have the BM3 CustomROM on it with their unlock.

🔸Can I get this if my DME is Femto UNLOCKED?
Unfortunately, due to specifics around the Femto unlock, you will need to have your DME resent to Femto for CustomROM software to be applied along side their unlock. Your DME would lose its Femto unlock if we allowed a full flash of the software to be done. If you were to flash the MultiMap without resending it to Femto, you will simply have MultiMap's map1 power available and no CustomROM features.

Do i need a port injection kit to run E85 from the pump with the stg1 OTS flex fuel map ?
my ethanol usually is E60-E70 at best .

You do not need PI to run this. Stage 1 is stock set up. Stage 2 is upgraded DPs. That being said, you don't want to run full E85 on stock set up, and PI will be able to increase power further with a custom tune, but the OTS aren't made for PI.

I'm sure there is a way to get PI to work with this unlock, shoot PTF a message and they'll get you sorted.

When my ECU gets back I'm going to aim for an E60-65 mix to make sure I'm not stressing the stock fueling system more than necesary.

Also, fairly certain we had this conversation on FB as well lol

What's the verdict on OEM detection at the dealer for an unlocked ECU (assuming your reflash to stock before a dealer visit)? I know if you do the updates it could be relocked but more talking about being blackflagged by BMW.

If you unlock and flash your ECU you should 100% expect for them to deny any warranty claims on the powertrain past that. It's a roll of the dice and odds definitely aren't in your favor.

Seems like a pointless to thing to wonder about. Whether they do it during an oil change or if you bring it in with a rod through the hood, the outcome is the same. Everything not related to powertrain is still covered and they still have to honor a service contract if you have one.

My plan is just to outright tell them its tuned so they dont try and flash it. Not trying to hide or conceal anything. If I pop a motor then that gives me an excuse to build it and slap on some bigger turbos!

My advice: if this is something that worries you don't mod your car
