By 'optional race seats' are we talking about actual 1 piece seats ala F82 GTS & E46 CSL ? Or just the optional Carbon 2 piece seats available on every G80/82 ?. I'm guessing if it's the genuine 1 piece seats you buyers in the US will miss out on the 'real deal' yet again.
Had an M4 GTS but didn’t get the race seats in the US like you said because they put their airbags in the seats not the doors

It’ll probably be the carbon buckets that do have airbags in them. Better than last time though…

Dunno how it will work in US, but here in EU not every dealer will even get a CSL to allocate.
And even those who do, they will only get one single allocation.

The M5 CS was about $142K so since this is a CSL, I would think there will be a premium so at least $142K if not more. We still have to wait for the official unveiling of the M4 CSL, first drive reviews, and allocation process. I did some research as wasn’t there a vetting process with BMW where they decided who would get an allocation for the M4 GTS?
Agreed. But since an M4C is far less in cost than an M5C you would think that a $50k lower cost difference would be a better estimation.

You're going to see it in person?
I didn't give a timeline 🤫😀🤣 But yes, eventually, I will see it in person. Just have to be patient with me, lol.

Can anyone PM me dealers in NorCal that are accepting a deposit for the CSL and planning to sell it at MSRP? I spoke to one today that said they’ll have $50k ADM
If I were you I wouldn't even look in your area, go outside of it, flyover states, etc. if the hype train has spread, there will be better luck looking in places that don't try to bang out their customers. And you can always drive it/ship it back to yours.

None of them are taking it now, maybe in the spring or after the announcement

I'm quite surprised that no forum member knows (or feels compelled to share) the unveiling date of the CSL. Someone, throw us a bone already.

When the G80/82 first released I thought the G80 was ok but didn't like the G82 at all (which is unlike me as I only usually like 2 door cars).
However I must say I prefer the 82 to the 80 now that I've seen more modded/improved versions.
This CSL render & the IOMG Acm-Racing Sport Concepts G82 also on the front page both look very nice indeed imo.
I think both the G80/82 are cars that require some smart modifying to look good, the G82 especially so.

Then again it may just be that I'm so pleased to see anything besides the horrid iX & i EV atrocities that plague the front page recently that anything half-way decent is starting to look good.🤔😏

Expect a special announcement on the 50. birthday of BMW M GmbH.

I assumed several models will be unveiled in May to celebrate the 50th, but I thought the CSL production starts in June or July. I therefore expected it to be unveiled sooner.

Production will start shortly after the unveiling at the end of may.

$50k!? Seriously!?
Seeing big ADM asks everywhere for the CSL as well. BMW dealers finally became Porsche dealers after the M5 CS markups and they have no plan to go back to normalcy.

If it gets the same M department love that the M5CS got this one could be a good buy, my plan is to enjoy it 3-4 years (with plenty of track time of course) and recoup the initial cost or have a very low depreciation and move on.

This would be an excellent scenario "a la" GT3. I hope they keep the backseats, that would be awesome.

From what I have seen so far, there are no backseats on the CSL.

I wonder if an M8 CSL will also be unveiled in May.

The M8 platform is not suited for a CSL badge. But maybe for something without the "L".

Makes sense. Actually I see it was confirmed in this article… but then what is this winged M8 prototype? 🤔

If you ask me, that looks not like a prototype at all. Numberplate doesnt add up either. That's just some bloke with a modified M850.

I'm beginning to think this M8 mule is being used to test a flat plane V8. It sure sounds like one in the video.
