Colour coded lower trim (from gloss black)
A few of you have painted your gloss black lower trim (sills, corner splitters etc) to body colour. Can you please post pics? Some of us are on the fence - this thread could help us make our minds up.
Thanks! Examples below I found on ACM’s main thread. |

This is Marshalls car, maybe he has more pics. fashion.g80
On a side note. I like the side skirts painted, with the strakes left black. I think Evolve Automotive just did this with their Mint G82

We did leave an exposed section black and thin kit works really well, partially because we have the Alpha N front carbon corners.

I for one have always disliked lowers that differed from the paint scheme. The ONLY reason I ordered BSM was because it essentially blends in well with the lowers. Once I took delivery, I was glad I did (BSM is better in person than images)…but with an OEM option for painted lowers, I still would have chosen another color. Can’t understand why BMW doesn’t offer it even as a paid option.

I like the look of the lower painted. To me the car itself looks lower and better with this done.
I’m going to wait until all other mods are completed and see how my car looks and then decide. |

It definitely looks really good. I did this on my older Audis but on my previous F82 and F80 I understand why they went black. Daily driving and higher speeds made that lower painted area look bad above 30k and every time I got close ups or when it was on a rack it made me so sick to my stomach.

I see the benefits but I’ve honestly been on the other end having to have it redone because of aging/fading/yellowing. Also dirt being trapped in the edges. The cost vs value doesn’t seem enticing to me. |

It only makes sense if you're planning on a lip, carbon sides....etc. Otherwise, Seems kinda pointless, but to each their own. And as pointed out, I would def not do this without PPF or it will look like garbage after some time.
