The above was posted by @ynguldyn in the Future BMW model information thread. There have been some rumblings that the M3/4 will get completely revised grilles for LCI. Maybe they'll be akin to those on the 3.0 CSL? That said those are just rumors as of now, it's still too early to know what the LCI will bring to the G80/2.

I would be surprised if they did a complete revised grill, but nobody knows.

The airflow and the radiators were designed for the current grille. No way it gets revised in an LCI.

Exciting. But hard to believe they would revamp the grills. Headlights and taillights likely? Some other odds and ends as well.

Both the 3.0 CSL and the G87 have the S58 engine yet do not share the same style grille.

I don’t think they will change the grill because the value of the 3.0 will drop. I wish they would but they probably won’t.

This.
But I don't think they're going to revise the grill.

Never considered that thank you. I just thought that reconfiguring the radiators was something beyond a typical LCI maybe they won't have to?

Btw if they did this you know that the current style will become a cult classic in 20 years right?

Where have these rumblings been documented, outside of pure speculation and hope from the grille haters?

They got so much hate for these grills, and since they are nearing their end of ICE era, I think they will take the extra mile and go for the CSL design. It's not that smaller, BTW.

I can't remember where I heard this but I vaguely remember that part of the reason they could do this grille design for the CSL was because they extended the nose in front of the radiators to allow for enough airflow, or something like that.

I thought the 23 M3 was an LCI, given iDrive8, new dash etc…

If I may, the CSL, though based on an M4, is still a $750,000 car. It’s bound to have things unique to it, like the elongated nose as some have pointed out.

Instead, maybe we should look to the past. No M3 has ever received newly shaped noses or butts for their LCI. Yes, the design of the lights themselves changed, but not the shape.

Besides, the car is selling like hot cakes. Do you think bmw feels the need to make a drastic change?

We’ll see. My lease is due up when these cars arrive.

I hope they don’t what an insult to all the previous buyers. The s55 M3/M4 didn’t really change. Hope they do the same for this

Factoring in the fact that they still can’t make enough cars, I doubt they are thinking they need to change the grill. It’s the face of all their EVs now so despite what a few people think on Internet forums, they are here to stay. Just my opinion
