Very nice. Hate to say it but the iDrive 8 really ruins the feng shui of the cabin.

Expectation thing for me. iDrive 8 works very well on the i4 for me - feels like it belongs, but not so much on the 3er/M3.

I'm not sure we really need to resurrect yet another thread about iD8 here. I'm not a fan of it, but I certainly understand BMW's motivations -- financial and marketing -- to standardizing it across the range. It would make zero sense for them to offer two different dashboards and telematics/infotainment systems as options on an individual car. No manufacturer does that, because it would be needlessly expensive and complicated.

Anyway, getting back on topic: This color combination looks fantastic on the M3 Touring.

This Tartufo is too tame for me! And it doesn't go that nice with that silver... Tartufo with black, british racing green or a dark blue would be a different story.
This frozen silver would look much better with a Fiona Red full leather and the carbon buckets ...

I agree that FR offers a better contrast with the silver, but Tartufo just oozes class and richness and is a more mature color. Too bad it's not available with the buckets.

It has the cup holders in the middle seat of the back! Wonder if that could be retrofitted to the m3?

I'm not sure what you mean, it had been done by many companies including BMW. They had different dashes for screen sizes or even no screen. E90 without idrive for instance.

it's for heated seats subscription and other subscriptions.

can be removed and replaced by software.

if there are buttons you can't charge subs.

with no buttons your income stream is limitless.

it's not for better owner experience.

Same for me. Wouldn't be a deal breaker ultimately, but its a step backwards in terms of design for sure.

I have no doubt this car (like all the Gxx models) will be something else in person.
I think bucket seats are a must for the touring however, it's the only model where you can fold the rears flat and actually see them unobstructed.
Skyscraper grey would suit those seats better I think but again probably all good in real life.

It sucks. Plain and simple. Do all new G80s have that now from now on? I was at the local dealership today while my car was getting serviced and I saw a convertible M4. The piggy snout wasn't as bad as I thought in black. The grill kinda blended in with the rest of the car. The infotainment screen was regular size. Not this monstrosity seen here. I like the look of the estate, but that screen ruins everything inside.

Having owned an E39 and E91 wagon but skipping the F31 as I purchased an M2, every M3 wagon post I see pains me to know that it's not an option in the US. In my eyes, the lines of the G80 look much better in wagon format. If I ran BMW, I would only offer the M3 in wagon guise. I'd even homologate it for racing. And then I would lose my job.

Love these M wagons, why anyone would buy an 'M suv' over one of these is beyond me.

That was a different time my friend. Bespoke motors, F1 involvement etc
