What are doing about your winter setup?
And I think I saw a post of yours regarding tint. What % are you going with and where?
I'm going pilot sport all season 4. I hate how dedicated winter tires feel and they are sold out everywhere. With awd. I think it will be fine. I went with 35% ceramic on the G80. I'm going to do 20% on the M4. I went to the tint shop in Columbia.
Last time I got tint I used Auto Graphics in Manhiem. Have you always used the Tint Shop? How much?
Who do you use for paint correction or do you do it yourself?
I don't do it myself, as I'm hands wax on/off kinda guy lol, but I have gone to Barry Theal up in Lebanon in the past a couple of times. He's pretty well known. However, when he corrected my previous red M4CS I wasn't that impressed. But in his defense, there was quite a bit of marring from being left on the dealer's lot forever and I didn't want to pay big money to correct.

Btw, I forget where in Lancaster you are, but I'd love to check out your M4 if your near east pete
I'm just looking for a light paint correction it does not have to be perfect. I'm going to coat it myself then with gtechniq csl and V4. I'm in Mount Joy.

One thing that bugs me about the G82 is for some reason sits higher than the G80. I'm not into lowering my cars anymore but may have to do something.
Ugh, how much higher?? Is that bc of X drive? I'm not into lowering either.

I think you'd be happy with Barry
https://www.barrytheal.com/
I will look into him thanks.. I don't think it's because of xdrive. The G82 seems to have 1/2" to 3/4" more wheel gap.
Well that sucks. Let me know what you end up doing if anything. Maybe spacers will help?
I have 12mm spacers coming this week. I will post some pics after I install them.

Pilot AS 4 seem to be a bit wider than pilot 4S.

Here you go
Are pics of the car pre or post spacers? Gap isn't too bad
Also, do you wait to get you tint done at the Tint Shop or drop off? 20% isn't too dark?
You are making my wait so much longer. But I'm sorta glad I don't have for the winter.

Thanks for rotation of the pics. It must be the Samsung phone that's makes it do that. I dunno..

No spacers on the car yet. I have FC 12mm spacers I'm going to try.

Its 20% on the M4. If you look at the G80 M3 that was 35%. Both cars had there global QDP ceramic film installed. I let the car there and picked up later in the day.

Is you rear bumper not flush with the quarter panel, or is it just an optical illusion? I don't want any Tesla build quality on mine lol

I will have to look at that now see if it is an illusion. You would probably like 35%. It also depends on interior color. Mine is black. So it looks darker.

M240 ready for transport...wonder how long it will take.

Nice! I really think I'd be happy with a loaded M240, but I'm too much of an ///M fanboi.

OT, but I'm having a real hard time wrapping my head around paying msrp for these BMWs. I can only imagine how much of hit we'll take once things level out and it's time to resell. I still have a 1.5yr left on my X5 M50i warranty and no reason to unload, just my vehicular ADHD and boredom I guess. It's going to be a long 3 months wait…

It was a mistake on my part. It was the worst riding car I have ever had, the side to side motions were horrible. Had a few Night at the Roxbury moments It lacked torque below 3k rpm bad. It was just not for me. I could tell the S58 would rock in a lighter package though. Maybe they fixed the two things in the LCI? only kept it for 2 months. Found a G80 and traded it.

Now the G80 feels buttoned down compared to the CS. Traction is night and day better than any F80 I owned. It almost feels awd if you don't floor it from a stop. It will not just snap out like the CS. Much much more grip. S58 in this application is perfection. It feels way faster up top compared to the CS. If you look at dynos it makes around 100whp more at 7k rpm than the S55.

Turn in also feels faster. It just overall feels more direct than the CS to me. With much better tuned damper and springs. They almost feel like mangna ride dampers to me? I miss the Alcantara wheel though.

I can understand the auto vs dct debate. It's a fraction slower to down shift. Up shift is about as fast to me. It's less visceral but it is more abruptly tuned than the X3M comp was. Over all thought DCT is much more fun to shift in the CS. It feels much more race car like, if you know what I mean.

I also prefer the M mode HUD in the F80, for some reason both X3M and G80 distract my eyes at night.

As for looks I like them both. Of course the G80 makes the F80 look a bit dated. I like San Marino better than Tanazinite blue on the G80.

Over all I think the F80CS is one of the best looking sedans BMW ever produced. It feels more on edge and wild than the G80 but not as serious in its execution. Now I just need to try the F90 someday

If someone could rotate those 2 pics I would appreciate it. Not sure whe they post sideways... Thanks
How are you finding G80 now? Im in the same boat, either keep the F82 CS with 17800 miles or wait for G80 M3. It's been scheduled for production but not sure how long it would take? Do you miss your CS?

I liked the G80 but like having traction of Xdrive on the G82 even more. As for the CS it's a great car but the new G82 even RWD has much better traction without the big spike in the power band down low. Also has much more pull at the top end where the CS started to fall off.

An M240i would be a nice secondary car, but knowing there is an M2 on the horizon, I don't think it could be my primary. In my case, I'm actually contemplating a X3 M40i. An X3M would be, for me, paying too much for a bunch of performance that is already being satisfied by my M3 CS and incoming M4CX

That top pic is the money! For some reason, I find the other two pics too low for my taste. I just commented over on the AST thread.

Well I traded the M4 in for a Alfa Giulia quadrifoglio. This car is super fun. Exhaust is awesome, very loud whip cracks on up shifts! It feels very DCT like to me. This engine pulls really good up top. It feels faster than I was expecting.
