Anyone with this setup G80 M3C: 285/30/20 & 305/30/20

I recently bought a used G80 M3C RWD that came with the following wheel, tire, and suspension setup. (Note: also included stock wheels which I converted to a winter wheel setup).

Current Suspension:
H&R Supersport springs

Stance SF10 Wheels:
20x10 +15 offset
20x11 +15 offset

Current Tires:
Front 275/30R20
Rear 295/30R20

Proposed Tires:
Michelin PS4S 285/30/20 & 305/30/20

The current PS AS4 tires offer no wheel protection and I don't like the traction so I'm hoping I can get a wider tire with the 305 and fit the 285 up front to keep the difference between front and rear closer (1.9% diameter and circumference diff).

Is anyone running this setup or close to it without rubbing?

I'm not married to any of this, just looking for the best looking and most fun summer setup with better grip that the AS4 tires. Open to suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'm running 285/30/20 PS4S front and 305/30/20 Cup2 rear on Eibach front only springs. They rub front fender liners so you will need fender liner mod. No rubbing on the rears. Rear tires fill up the fenders nicely. Wheel specs are 20x10 ET8 and 20x11 ET17.

Thanks for the reply. I’m not looking to mod any of the fenders so perhaps the 285/305 combo is too much and I should just stick with 275/295. I thought about changing to a HAS kit but think I’ll eventually sell and move to an awd model so I want to keep things mostly stock and not invest any more in the car.

Any other input from people who have attempted this path to 285/305 successfully or not would be appreciated. Thanks.

You're not modding the fender, you're modding the liner inside. It's a plastic piece that comes out with simply undoing some screws, very easily, and is $60 if you need to ever buy a replacement.

A proper mod includes removing it, using cutters to remove the grate protector for the grill in front and either leaving it, or buying a new grate to put around the outside. Total cost of $100 or less depending on where you get the grate/what you want to do.

It's very simple and a very easy fix if you mess something up (you won't).

Here's a video detailing what to do and what to buy:

Thanks for sharing that. I guess the question becomes is the wider setup worth it? I’m after a bit more rim protection and always more traction.

What does the wider setup really give you?

Well I’m going through with it. Currently having 285/305 conti extremes installed.

We checked after one side was installed and there was no rubbing front or rear at full lock. Admittedly this is a poor test without having normal driving loads at speed, but it’s the best I could do before telling them to move on with the other side.

Will report back after a day or two or if I hear any rubbing.

I had slight rubbing (in my situation, not on your setup) only specifically turned a certain way and only in reverse...and only sometimes.

Not saying you'll have it, but I wouldn't be shocked if you did eventually hear it.

Installing 285 and 305 ps4s in a weeks time, lowered on KW has kit and changing to aftermarket wheels 20x10 20x11. Worse case I’ll raise the car but the builder said he’s done this on multiple m3 and m4’s and hasn’t had much issues. So let’s see lol.
