BMW 1000M wheel, what spacers fit?

Like the title says. I'm getting ready to snag a set of BMW 1000M wheel and tires. To the people that have a set, what spacers are you running, if any?

Also, what's the vehicle configuration. I'm lowered 20mm. Are you RWD or xDrive? Because it definitely makes a difference with which spacers rub and which don't.

I have the OEM Pirellis and 10mm spacers rub enough to break at least one fin on my fender liner, on both sides. Is anyone rubbing in the rear?

And finally, what tires are you running, the Yokohama Star, that come with the full set, or did you buy the wheels separate and go with Michelins?

Ok so I'm running the 1000M's lowered about the same on the BMW HAS Kit. Xdrive with 15/12 spacer setup. Yes I rub in the front only in reverse with wheel near full lock. No rear rub also have Yoko star tires that came with the set.

15 in the front! So, I could possibly go 12 and not rub. I have a set of 12s for the rear, already. I can try those up front. I'd be fine with 12 squared.

I ran 12mms front and rear with 1000ms and had to remold (heat gun instead of cutting) the front fender liner to make it not rub as much when backing up.

Ok, so, maybe I'm in the same spot as I am, now. 10mm up front, rubs.

Mine get delivered Wednesday, 12/14. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, I’ll have them installed, shortly after.
As for pics.

Ok, well, I received my wheels, and wouldn't you know it, the tires rub, with no front spacers installed, so, that's my only option is to reshape the front fender liners.

Looks killer. Trim those outboard fins on each side, and you'll be good to go. Maybe even gain some room to accommodate spacers.

I need to try a few different things before I completely cut what I can’t put back. At least these things are only like $80 per side for the OEM liners.

Yep, I went straight ham on mine, knowing they're not too expensive. The fin work is pretty straight forward. You won't even notice them, even if it's not perfect.

A few of my fins are already broken from having the 12mm spacers on. I think one on each side. But I like it to look as OEM as possible. May do the R44 method, first.

So you're saying that BMW HAS kit + BMW 20/21in wheels combination rubs?!

Is there a note somewhere for customers? I would be pissed off if I ask my car to be delivered with all M Performance parts and find out it rubs...

Yes, rubs slightly in reverse, with xDrive. The steering angle is slightly different on the RWD cars, so, apparently, they weren't tested on the xDrive cars, and I haven't seen anything that's mentioned that the wheels will rub in reverse. I don't think BMW would sell them.

I need to make an appointment with BMW and have them take measurements, and submit the information to the BMW engineers. The cheap thing to do, would be for BMW to just VIN restrict the sales to RWD cars only, but that would hurt sales. I'm willing to buy new fender liners if they would offer them, and I'm not talking about the $900 ones. The stock ones are $80 each.

Do you think IND's RKP front liners would accommodate for 12-15 mm spacers in the front?

I've been looking into it and the best set up not to rub would be to have 275 in the front and 295 in the rear. I'm not an engineer but I believe the problem with that is the:
Front RPM would be +.03% ( -.03%Circum. inches (mm))
Rear RPM would be -.03% ( +.03% Circum. inches (mm))

This would throw off the front and rear speedometer reading. for example:

Front
275/35/19 to a 275/30/20
Speedo reading: 20mph
Actual speed: 19.94 mph

Rear
285/30/20 to a 295/25/21
Speedo reading: 20mph
Actual speed: 20.06 mph

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe BMW went with 285F/295R to keep RPM (Revolutions per mile consistent between the front and rear.
Front RPM would be -.06%
Rear RPM would be -.03%

This gives you a better balance between the front and rear being a difference of -.03 in total. So both the front and rear gives you a slightly higher speedometer difference which I believe why BMW went with 285F/295R but sucks that it rubs.

I think Speedo error for them is less of a concern than throwing the xDrive system off. The stock overall diameter variance is 0.4% overall circumferential variance.

This is important to keep the xDrive system happy. 1.0% is the recommended max. I’m sure IND wouldn’t be selling the fender liners if they rubbed anything. The xDrive cars have a quicker steering rack than the RWD cars, which seems to change the thrust angle ever so slightly. You’ll find that with Rwd cars you can be more lenient with spacer sizing.

I will. I already did the R44 mod. It didn’t work out for me. I didn’t have a piece of wood. I used a stiff box, which was solid like a block of wood, but it still wasn’t enough.
