M Carbon Exterior Package pictures?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Does anyone have actual pictures of what's included in the M Carbon package?

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1765167

I've seen a dozen pics of the mirror caps, rear diffuser, and front bumper vents.

Does it come with anything else?

Unfortunately, this side carbon vent piece is not part of the OEM package.

I don't understand why the side skirts aren't CF. Now you have to buy the M Performance ones, which the canards look cartoonish on. The winglets before and after the rear tire is just too aggressive on the M Performance side skirts. And anything aftermarket, would have to match the weave pattern of the OEM ones, so, they somewhat match.

Those side air breathers are not in carbon in the UK M external carbon pack which I think is £4700!

I've got the pack fitted on my order but I'm gutted the breathers won't be in carbon

Are they part of M performance accessories? Anyone know how much ?
Bet you have to sell a kidney for a pair from BMW ?

Mine is delivery Wk 35 now :-)

I added them to my car. They were like 500 freaking dollars apiece. They complete the look though.

Well, that's better than what I'm seeing them priced for $1,458.

yeah, about 350 Euros in Germany (where I am ordering my car). Still struggling to get them. Yes, they add to the carbon mirrors and roof. But especially from the side profile the factory ones in gloss/matte black actually fit very well the gloss black side skirts, wheels etc. So in the end you always have a mix of gloss black and carbon unless you convert all to the performance parts.

Related: Does the package actually reduce weight? Or is it strictly an aesthetic mod?

Just cosmetic, you exchange cheap plastic with expensive plastic. In one YT video somebody weighed a standard side skirt against the performance one. Original was about 1000g, the carbon one 850g, so you save about the weight of an egg on that one.

They just know people will buy them to complete the package. But that still leaves you with the plastic side skirts, which, for $4,700, should be included. Hopefully someone builds some that match the factory weave and color. I'm interested in the exhaust that's in my Avatar, but I heard the rear diffuser and the exhaust was $10K, together.

Also, I saw this pricing on the M Performance Parts. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the Carbon bits. https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-g80-g8...3-m4-2021--632

Yeah, from what I've seen, that's a negative. They look like piano black plastic. the stuff that scratches when you look at it, funny. I'm going to have to get it PPFd because once that piano black gets swirled, its going to look like hammered dog sh@t in the sunlight. My OCD will make me want to trade the car in..

We may be better off skipping it on the order, and just getting the M Performance Carbon. $2,400 for the front bumper ducts. $1,850 for the carbon sides, $1,950 for the front bumper. $1,700 for the mirrors. $3,200 rear diffuser. $11,100 without installation. Or order it for $4,700 and then $1,850 for the carbon side, $1,950 for the front bumper Much cheaper option. Only about $8,500.

None of the OEM exterior carbon bits are that great imho, I'm waiting for all aftermarket options. Nice lips, side skirts, diffusors, all that stuff will be coming.

Interior carbon trim is a great though, console, paddles, wheel, etc.

And of course…..the carbon seats. MUST have!

I will have mine some in PPF because even if they weren't black, that area takes the most abuse from the road no matter where you live. I have a good set of tools since I wash my own cars. I can easily get swirls out, but that doesn't mean I want to often.

These carbon pieces are a total rich person tax. No functionality, marginal visual enhancement, incredibly expensive.

The most important ones, are to get rid of the mesh in the front bumper. That one, to me, is the only must have. Id just hope that someone would make an aftermarket one of quality.

Yes, Night, significant weight savings within the CF mirror caps, the rear valence and the front air intakes. It will be noticeable.

Wow, by nature of your statement this entire car is a rich person tax. Are you crapping on people who chose individual colors, or carbon buckets? Or just because you don't see the value in the carbon package means no one else should either? Yikes.

OP - I've found for most options with this car if you're considering it, just do it. Lots of people, including myself, added the carbon pack at the last minute after seeing the difference in the front end alone.

We can all have our opinions, jonahk, even if they're provocative. The entire car is a luxury good but not what I would call a "rich person tax." While it’s priced at a premium the car delivers performance capabilities for that cost.

BMW is probably making 70% profit margin on those carbon pieces that do nothing. If you're OK with that, spend baby spend.
