I agree it's not the most aesthetically pleasing front end.
If BMW were to make the front end more like the 3.0 CSL ones, I'm trading mine in.
Not meaning the current grills are ugly, but because I think the 3.0 CSL's is beautiful!

This means nothing in the current market. People are also waiting months, if not a year, to get Siennas, Tellurides, and many other cars.

A front grill redesign discussion in an LCI thread seems like fair game. Like it or not, it's the biggest controversy of the current car, and it's a pretty easy change for BMW (see 3.0 CSL concept), so it's going to keep coming up.

Almost every LCI M car lately has gotten some form of front bumper and grille update. Look at the M5 and upcoming X5 M.

I would be surprised if BMW changes nothing on the front end. But I do not expect them to give it an F8x sized grille.

Will be interesting to see what is changed, and when.

That big grill ain't going no where specially with a LCI at most they may change the style of the plastic slats.
You don’t know it’s part of a small niche market, maybe your viewpoint is the small niche market. The reality is every car manufacturer has trouble producing over the last year and demand is high everywhere. It’s not that these are selling like hot cakes cause it’s so desirable, it’s selling cause there is no inventory and early adopters need the next new thing.

Those who hate the grill are entitled to their opinion, where they go off the rails is when they forget they’re potentially insulting people who spent their money on the car in the sub forum for that car. That’s when it’s just trolling for the sake of upping their post count.

The whole “everybody I know hates the grille” is just dumb and tired. I can see why the folks with the previous models don’t like it because it’s exaggerated over the more conservative design of the previous cars but everyone does not hate the grille. YOU hate the grille and that’s OK. I and many others like it and I put my money where it counts and bought it. There are a bunch of cars that I don’t like but I don’t bother to post on those forums or sub forums and talk trash because…well…it’s a dumb thing to do.

I’ll be interested to see what the LCI brings not because I don’t like what I have but it’s always fun to see what happens next.

Now maybe I’ll go over to the F8x forum and talk about how cheap the interiors are.

My comment was not directed to dealer inventory shortage in the past years. With the next generation rumored to have a hybrid powertrain and G80/2 being one of the very few vehicles having manuals in a performance sedan, this platform has attracted plenty of new buyers and this has been recorded in the poll which i shared earlier.

So they will be making extra extra profit and milking it like the GTR. Base MSRP of 90k by that time.

Dodge might be milking customers with Durango as the current platform was introduced in 2011. Not sure if I wouldnt say the same with G8x. Even with the extension, this platform has a total production of 6 years which is typical for any vehicle platform.

In this day and age, $3.7k MSRP bump for MY23 G8x might not be terrible when you compare with other manufacturers. For example, GM bumped CT5BW MSRP by 7k for MY23.

Couldn’t care less how popular it is or long the wait lists are, or what other people think of the car. It’s been a huge hit with me. I’m sure any LCI tweaks will only make it better. Can’t think of any examples off the top of my head where the update was worse.

So this post doesn't tell me when and what to expect for the full LCI.
The MY23 G80/81 only get ID8 updates , and G82/83 will likely to have the same treatment for MY24 or maybe it will be the full LCI for entire MY24 G8X with some cosmetic changes?

I ask because I was just getting the confirmation from BMW that my G81 touring will start production on January, and I hope there's no drastic changes when G8X get the full LCI.

I intend to keep mine for a long time. I had my S4 for 8 years, I might keep this longer.
Why why why did you have to mention the wonderful S4???? 😂😂😂. I had a 2018 and I miss that car soooo much. When someone mentions one, I get the shakes. 😂😂. My wife won't let me have two of my own cars or I would have another S4 right now.

I'm guessing this means that the G20 will get a HP increase for 2024?

There are now a couple of aftermarket companies that make CSL grills in both black plastic and carbon fiber that are plug and play replacements for the G80 and G82. I have ordered one along with other carbon bits for my incoming 2023 G82 Comp. About 2 weeks out.
