Just about finished with the car

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys. Coming from a long kind of built hellcat platforms, I’m always messing with something. Traded in my 19 HC redeye and went with something non American built. First time ever. Picked up a 21 M3 G80 comp. Car is pretty well loaded with carbon roof. Car was owned by a DR that had several M cars and this one didn’t get driven much. So far, here is the mods.

Complete frost matte Ppf
Carbon mirror caps
Carbon wing
Carbon front splitter
Intake
JB4
2nd cat delete
Carbon grey metallic powered coated factory wheels.

Since this is my family driver now that I live somewhere I can actually drive a nice car daily, I wanted to either lower it on H&R springs or put a set of ADV1 sq set up 20s on it.

Enjoy!

Great looking car. Nice to see 20s don't rub. I'm not sure if we would be so fortunate to get them to fit on an xDrive. Has anyone tried it? Bueller? xDrive has a quicker steering rack to make up for the front end lag and weight, and therefore the car steers a little differently. Spacers rub on the xDrive where they wouldn't normally rub on the RWD.

Thx bro. Chat anytime my friend!

Love you car as well. Wheels look great. Went to order a set but the color I wanted was out of stock. Changed gears and went with the matte wrap instead and I do like the stock wheels, just not a stock wheel kind of guy LMAO.

What lowering kit do you have? How’s it ride?

This is still the 19/20 set up. The factory wheels in the rear, so rub in the front. I rest fist and drover with fronts in rear and backs in front for a few miles. Rubs when full lock left and right. Could not see where it was running but I assume, the wings in the wheel well. I’m sure it could be corrected with some heat. I haven’t found anyone that can confirm if they’ve actually put the factory 20s upfront and corrected the rubbing issue. I think the car would look so much better this way and I would love to do it, but I don’t want to be throwing $3000 at something that won’t work.

On another note, I tried 15 mm spacers at factory height, and the wheels were rubbing in the front with the 19s. Not sure if it’s my tires, because I went with a different brand, but I had to bump it back down to 12 mm to where it didn’t rub on the plastic inner wings on the wheel well housing.

My car is lowered 20mm and my Pirellis rub the liner in front with 10mm spacers. The fins are almost broken off on both sides.

Is it still rubbing up front? I was thinking about heating all of them up and pushing them flat upward if that makes sense.

I want to know how these guys are running lowered cars with 15 and 18 mm spacers?!?!

Yes, they still rub with 10mm up front with Pirellis. From what I've seen, its not just the Pirellis that make a difference. The xDrive has a quicker steering rack than the RWD, so, that puts the suspension in a slightly different angle, when the wheel is turning. The RWD cars clear almost everything. 12mm spacers fit RWD with Pirellis, but the xDrive 10mm rub. It's only off by a few mm, but it's enough to make a difference. Put Michelins on a RWD car, and you can run just about anything 15/15 works.

Yea you have the best stock wheels on yours for sure.
I am on AST springs. Got camber plates coming in to really dial it in. Did Coaterz do your PPF? I am dropping mine off there next week for PPF but I remember seeing a white M3 on their IG story

haha i love mine a tad bit more. But I installed my springs, not too bad of a job. I have a Quickjack en route now so it will make all the work so much easier. If you wanna DIY it, bring it over and we can tackle it. Shops were quoting me over 1k for the install haha. beer cost a 1/16th that price

It’s crazy how much these shops want. I don’t get it. Thanks for the offer brother. Where are you located? Also, let me know when your dropping your car off, I’ll make a call to Corey and get a deal on your car. What are doing to it at his shop?

Thank you. I wanted to change it up a bit for the time being as finding wheels that work on this car take forever to get or are just so crazy priced; it didn’t make since to me right now.

We mixed the color to march the gray to the T in the carbon roof.

If you can, zoom in on the window trim, we did that in carbon as well. Looks pretty sweet.

I see the dark gray window trim you're talking about now. Did the shop find a PPF film color that matched that roof... ? Or did they paint that trim off the car & then install it... ?

Happy Thanksgiving. Do you mentioned to him I told you to go there? I’m going to call him tomorrow about your car. Play along :-)

Also. Make sure you make my show on 12/11 at jaxwax. Should be 700 cars. We are doing a toys for tots that day as well. I have 93.3 the “joe show” involved as well.
