Hopefully some/most of the aero accoutrements will be optional, which I think would tame down the overall look. (The wing on the F83 GTS was also a little overdone.)

Either way, yes, it's a little busy, and certainly aggressive. Yet I suspect the performance will be lofty (as will the price), and the small volume will ensure it'll sell well and remain a collectible.

Funny ppl wondering if aero, wing and deleted stuff is optional

Except for GT3 touring which is a standalone model on its own you don't see ppl crying about a wing delete on GT4's and GT3's, I mean it's a motorsports special, much closer to track than any regular M3/4 including CS (ClubSports) if it's not for you just go on with your life and pass.

Vents should’ve been there in the first place. Now the hood looks purposeful. And chin spoiler fixes the tapered look. The side skirts are ridiculous but the front looks better!

Can we please add the honeycomb grilles back to all openings in the front fascia?

If that is too much aesthetics for you, you've got to be the most boring person alive….Christ man, live a little.

What do you think about this one?

Cheers!
Would be nice if they made the side sill functional too.

this gen is still ugly, all the rendering in the world can't change that front end design.

Looks are subjective. Going on the G8X forums and wow you don't see people saying the car they paid 80k for is ugly… that's obvious. They're ugly cars. The only people that disagree are bmw owners. Go on the internet any forum any YouTube video that isn't comprised of bmw owners and you'll see that everyone agrees it's ugly.

The fact that people think what this car needs is lots of plastic bits strapped to it in order for it to look good just means BMW marketing has u right where they want u … bent over, grabbing ur ankles, right in front of em

Again, everywhere I go I get comments from non-BMW drivers about how much they like it. What a bunch of internet commenters think doesn't equate to "Everyone". What's pathetic is people like yourself a year after the car has been revealed still come in to the G80 forum to dump on it. Says a lot about you.

My boys loved the M4 at our local dealership as did other onlookers. I'm sure people in a BMW dealership may be fond of BMW designs but the internet hate is largely based on people only seeing photographs as it seems most people seem to come around when seeing the car in person. There are very few vehicle designs that receive universal love on the internet as the only recent ones I can think of are the Bronco and Emira. I know most VW guys don't like the looks of the new GTI/Golf R. I already discussed the disdain for the new WRX. Pretty well any new car gets picked apart on the internet because people hate change. You don't like it and that's fine but regardless of what you are saying about other internet forums you can only speak for your own opinion.

I don't care if people don't like it; we all have differnet tastes. I don't like the new 2 series at all but I don't intend to go that forum and dump all over it for a year straight the way some here have with the G80/82. That's what I can't undertsand here. It's really bizarre.

The distain continues as this is an ongoing design tragedy. Another reason is it ticks people off that bmw keeps doubling down on the failed design. The fact that people defend the failed design further fuels the distain. It's an ongoing cycle.

I could personally care less what car this internet person or that internet person drives. That said, I will still sporadically voice my opinion…which in this case is: externally, the G8x is a failure in comparison to other aspects of the car. When u trace back how we got here, it's a new selection of executives at bmw who leaned on someone new for their supposed design language skill/aptitude. In short, who they leaned on did not have the skill they thought they had. And now we are here.
