Apple CarPlay issues

Hey guys

Anyone have an issue that looks like this? I never had an issue with CarPlay before today, and when it works, all these icons are together. Today, it's separated. Anyone see this before? Any ideas how to fix? I've deleted and repaired, same issue.

Reboot your iPhone and reboot your iDrive. FWIW, I had a lot of issues with my 13 Pro Max, but, so far, none with my 14 Pro Max.

Did you also connect to the Wifi in the car? I believe the car shows those as two separate device connections.

Hold down the volume/ power button for like 30 seconds. And just when you think it hasn't been long enough, keep holding the button down. Then it will reset the infotainment system.

The problem I have with Apple Car Play is that it won’t connect to my iPhone 13 Pro I suspect it’s because of my VPN. If I forget to turn it off before getting into the M I’ll need to restart my iPhone.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the CarPlay LAG? I click next track and it takes 3 seconds to switch songs and incorrectly displays the new track's counter instantly upon pressing...

Question, if I don't have Wi-Fi in my car, what use is it? May be a silly question but I genuinely don't know. It pops up but with lock icon

Yes the LAG I notice when I use the steering wheel to control. When I use the center circle thing (yeah can't remember what it's called) there is zero lag

WiFi is a wireless local area network technology. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect to your car using bluetooth and WiFi. So, yes, your car has WiFi.

Most people (and sounds like you too) use the term WiFi to denote connectivity to the Internet via WiFi. But those are two separate things. You may be referring to the fact that your car does not have the wifi hotspot option. That means your car doesn't have the cellular chip to be able to provide Internet access to devices in your car via WiFi. That's completely separate and not at all related to CarPlay.

My car only does this when the cellular connection is weak and then only if the song isn't downloaded to my phone ahead of time.

You might be experiencing something completely different though. Try downloading a playlist to your phone, then see if you still notice a delay.

My id8 CarPlay constantly have GPS issue… The location will off a little bit and when that happen the navigation is useless. I have to reboot id8 to solve that.

But after maybe 30min it will happen again.

I tested different phone and I’m pretty sure it’s the CarPlay issue. The location will be corrected instantly when I disconnect the CarPlay.

Never have this issue in id7 CarPlay.
