Why do people feel the need to fight for them? Both of these cars are my childhood dream since B5 vs E46 times. I enjoy every generations of them EXCEPT F80. This is also why I enjoy Audi and BMW at the same time. My guess, by the time we get G99 M5 Touring and RS6 Performance (C8), everyone will fight about them. For me, I'll be watching the cars look and feel improved over the before.

Man I cannot wait for the RS7 performance. I will definitely be picking one up. The underwhelming performance of the current C8 is why I went ahead with a g82 instead, since Audi usually takes a few years for some reason to release the performance variant.

At least it will keep the V8 unlike the recently revealed C63!

Thankfully. Absolutely hate the way Mercedes is going in general. To me they all look the same unless you get up close, whether it's a base c class or a fully loaded e63s. Crazy!

...which makes 680hp from a 476hp turbo 4 and a 204hp hybrid motor on the rear wheels which was developed in conjunction with their F1 team. real piece of garbage.

I think I'm against the status quo. I love cars.
I have had Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infiniti, Audi, Subaru/Toyota and soon BMW.

I enjoy cars and when I feel the need for a new one I get it. I prefer a smaller car and in process of getting an M240 ordered and possibly a G87 M2 comp when it's out.

I've always loved BMW but I've always loved turbo. A big part of things is how the market is and pricing. I'd love a TTRS but can't find one at a good price so why not order a BMW in the exact spec I want that I think looks awesome and is one of the best sounding engines currently

But how would it slack up to the V8 ones? Spoiler: It never will. The minute someone does sound check, this new one will fail, let's bet that.

It's interesting the need to defend Mercedes, but if BMW did the exact same thing they'd be blasted for it. Hypocrisy truly!

I mean... BMW's fuck ups seem to get ignored lately. Look at the 2 Series Gran Coupe for example. What once was refered as GROSS, now is ignored.

I would love to have an RS4 in my garage to complement my G80, shame they are not available in the US. I'm a sucker for wagons 🤩

But so heavy. I was really excited about this powertrain, but will wait to see actual driving reviews to see how it stacks up. Would love to see more electric turbos in other brands. I love all three cars, though the powertrain in the Audi is a bit lackluster, their next gen phev will be interesting.

I have a feeling that making so much hp from a small 4 pot means it's not going to last 100,000 miles if you drive it like you're meant to drive it

But let's face it, you cannot use 680hp for longer than that anyway or you'd be going million mph or run out of quarter mile runway.
While I'm not a fan, this philosophy kind of make sense to me rather than carrying the "burden" of always available 680hp every minute of everyday driving.

r/BMW downvoted my take for F80 to shreds because it hurted their feelings appearently.

But yeah the only reason why I don't enjoy F80 compared to E9x's is that it's downgrade, blacksheep release of the franchise. Why?
Let's find out. That is one key difference, do you notice something about F80? No coupe or cabriolet. And yeah, I get it, they're now M4s. But as someone who had M3 as her childhood dream.. this really hurts. We can't also forget the S55 sounding like a broken blender too. Overall, F80 wasn't the M3 for me. I think if they called it M4 as well, it'd be better.

Why would F80 be a downgraded to E9x? F8x handling better, faster and lighter, I get it if you prefer the sound of v8 better

I dunno. I wasn't quite fond of the changes aside Sedan only and turbo straight six. The looks and feels just felt bland to me. Like I felt F80 looked like beefed up 335i but with S55..
