Im using the Mode valve controller because I do not need the remote and I can use the car settings, but with the benefit of fully opening the valves.

With that said I heard something really interesting today, you can set the Dahler valve controller remote to work with your garage door opener remote in the car to have different settings (interesting).

Also just installed the Dahler this weekend. Couldn’t have been simpler and works great. Love having it in the homelink buttons so I can easily put it in ‘wife mode’ 😂

I was looking at the Mode controller and reached out to see how it connected. I believe (and could well be wrong) that it's actually a rebadged Cete Active Valve Controller. This appears to use the traction control button to change modes and while it doesn't require you to cut and splice wires like the Awron, it does use a quick connect crimp to the CAN high and CAN low wires which lost me.

Koolquest are you happy with the unit? Does it indeed use the traction button to change modes and can it be set to always open in a particular mode? What's the app like?

Looks like SST is the most cost-efficient option at this point.

I asked peem a few months, he's working on a wired version that connects to the obd2 port and then to the valves in the back. Then he's working on a wireless one that has one module at the obd2 port and one near the valves that talk to each other, but no eta.

i too had the VSC, it broke, i didn't even bother with trying to deal with them, wait for a replacement, etc. replaced it with the dahler, worked perfectly, you could program it to either start closed, opened, or remember last setting. VSC is hard coded from purchase.

Both Dahler and SST have proven to be reliable. For anyone in search of a valve controller, I highly recommend considering either of these two brands.

SST. Most of the other brands seem to be rebranded from same Chinese supplier.
