The check of the licence plate reveals that it's an additional M4 (Straße) with Advanced prototype track package.

Makes sense. As they talk about M4 as their 911. In other word to emulate increased performance models across the spectrum.
Still at least eighteen months away.
But it could end up being Orange.

BMW should use some cool sidepipes instead of those weird middle pipes

WTF is going on with BMW lately? Am I missing something here?

Giant grilles, gigantic and awful proportions, removing almost all traditional design cues, and now.....this?

I'm not sure I follow all these hatred. Compared to the grille, the center positioned quad pipe is not bad and is the only logical way if you want a style change in exhaust. You don't want to see one single big pipe in the middle (Aventador), nor three small ones (Ferrari 458), nor one big one on each side (992 sport exhaust) which is too close to 3/4 series car. The way they do it as is, looks fit for what the car's supposed to be.

F82gts doesn't really stand out look wise except for the lip and wing (which doesn't work with the rest of design).

For the G82csl, BMW probably continue to be too cheap to use exotic body kits (carbon fender, door & etc), at least they can work on new tooling for the plastic injection parts, which is front/rear bumper and thus the diffuser.

From a manufacturing standpoint, exhaust modification doesn't cost anything R&D wise, because the supplier easily cover it for a couple hundred piece mass production.

The thing I personally don't like from the picture is still the wing. To me, they're trying too hard, and using cheap approach.

I like it too - gotta mix things up a little - exterior styling can get too boring if the pace of change is too slow or too overly-conservative. This reminds me of how so many people hated on the 666M wheels when they came out - now tons of people on this forum love them and have them...

What's wrong with it? If it weren't for styling traits like this then people would complain that their GTS/CSL looks exactly like a 'base' M4

Car design often imitates organic forms to draw on emotions and strength. Especially around lighting in comparison to human expressions. But how this design directs the excretion of engine waste product is a little too organic for me.

i think the new "generation" of m drivers want the design like porsche -> please not all seven years a new shock!

maybe would the better way one model with finest solutions and step by step to a new interpreted design.

all the same handwrite (997>991>992) but alwas better and from model to model perfectlier.

-> actually the cars are even more to big und a surprise egg for owners. for the bread and butter seriers really an horrible and dangerous idea. this series is the best buyed in the bmw group.
please no more experiments here!
