Question AWE Midpipe Price VS Competitors

Hi all,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I couldn't seem to find any info with the search function.

Can someone explain why the AWE midpipe is much cheaper than other midpipes? I mean $300 vs $1000+ for other options seems odd to me.

The only thing I figure is that they say it's designed to only fit with their exhausts, and they don't guarantee fitment with other systems.

Am I missing something else?

The awe is shorter than most other midpipes as it connects to the factory secondary cats....

Gotcha. I guess I just didn't pay attention to the dimensions. I just saw midpipes with no resonators and assumed it deleted the secondaries as well. Thanks!

That's true and also they are not terribly overpriced like the competitors are I had awe on my m340 and also already have it for my g80 and imo AWE SOUNDS BETTER and is fairly priced My only complaint with them is that they don't have a carbon fiber tip option which they told me the reason why is because it doesn't hold up to their standards over time. Really don't get that but chrome/black are fine It's not always that the most expensive products are the best. I don't know this first hand but heard Akra for the price is not worth it You can buy 2 AWE g8x exhaust (1 for backup) for that price Lol Like I said imo AWE IS the better sounding system as well as not overpriced

It's the only one guaranteed to fit without modifications. I tried the active autowerke, but it did not work.

Please note you still need to cut the stock midpipe

exhaust decisions seemed so much easier on the F80 :P haha

Does the AWE switchpath attach to the stock cut-off points on the stock midpipe?

The stock does not have cut-off points as its one piece.

You need to measure the midpipe and then cut.

Here is an install video we posted
