Do all years of the G82 M4 require a bench unlock to flash?

I currently own a 2021 M2 Comp and am considering trading in for a used M4. I would want to flash a custom tune, probably bootmod3, to the DME. Do all model year G82 M4's require removing the DME and doing a bench unlock or are there certain years that do not require this?

Yes... After June of 2020 all S58 DME's require a bench unlock (Femto).

all G8x M3 M4 require sending the DME to Femto, but if you get an early X3M DME, you wont need to send it to Femto, you can unlock it in the US
