It is for an M3. But my CA said they looked into it and was told no. I guess I can escalate that to Genius, but since its already built and at port that might be too late anyway.

at the port of entry or the port of exit (here in the US vs. Germany)?

The option is there to add the suspension to any M3

So its sitting in Germany for a boat. But I can only relay what I've been told. Do you think its too late to add it at the Charleston port? It will be awhile before it leaves most likely. But I asked before but he says it is not an option.

Yes, it's expensive at the port but comes with 4 year warranty. I recently did it on mine and you can see the ride height in this picture: https://www.bmwseattle.com/inventory...3ay03pfp13638/

Getbmwparts have the kit listed for about $1500 and install cost was another $600 from an indy shop. At $2100 vs $2820, I would pay extra for OEM. It's also reflected in the window sticker.

I don't disagree with that, but I can't seem to make headway with my CA. Is it too late to add it though?

I believe you can still get this added to the port of entry. Your dealer will have to contact their regional person if they can't locate the Z58 option code.

I've told them to ask his regional rep about this port install option. I've also asked the genius line to clarify that.

You can add anything to the vehicle up until say the day before it arrives at the US port. Picture shows the option code to add it in VIA Options in the BMW system

That extra warranty is just on the HAS components though. What are chances springs go bad. Much higher chance of struts going bad using a kit like this and those should be under factory warranty.

Blown shocks are being denied coverage if they see springs on it that are not the MP Kit. At least 3 threads covering that.

Right.. that’s what has me leaning more toward the MP HAS. What I’m wondering is if the MPHAS is installed by an indy and a strut blows later, will they be covered if there is no record of the MP HAS being installed by a dealer? I’m guessing the struts would still be covered and only the spring kit itself would not be (but chances of MP HAS actually going bad would be slim to none).

Saw reports that you would need to prove it being installed by BMW Dealer or no coverage. They just point at the spring and say your spring killed the shock and bye.

My dealer quoted me 5700 for the m performance springs and install. North Austin Tx BMW. Absolutely ridiculous.

I was able to add the M suspension kit after I submitted my order thru my CA. I believe he had to contact the regional rep to do an individual install request at the port. Total price for the parts, labor and alignment was $2800.

I thought about installing this kit after I take delivery but the service manager told me that his book called out 16 hours of labor plus an alignment, and only comes with a 2 year warranty instead of 4 via port install.

My car was offloaded the boat on 04/26. The installation was finished on 05/12. I could have been driving this damn thing by now but supposedly there was an active Stop Delivery order for the stupid digital key card bullshit (23V-099) and the VDC is holding my car hostage with no lead time. SIGH.......
