Picked up the car today and absolutely love the wheels on the car. Pictures do not do justice. Very happy with them.
Also, is anyone using hub centric rings? Last edited by ATX_G80; 09-14-2022 at 12:14 PM.. |

FISH22 MMM.PWR Any of you guys using hubcentric rings 66.5 to 73.1? Or just ensuring proper tire mounting?
I have the logic that the G80 is not a hub-centric car because the OEM setup doesn't use studs and lugnuts. Cars that use lug bolts are called lug-centric, and the centering of the wheel on the rotor/hub is done via the action of the lug bolts. So while it matters a lot to have the right PCD size on a hub-centric lugnut car, it doesn't matter much at all on a lug-centric lug bolt car. I could be wrong.

My ride right now is extremely smooth, except for high speeds (Mexico speeds). I feel very small cyclic irregularities. They may need a better balance job. |

Appreciate it fish! Anyone curious, circuit performance makes both a plastic and aluminum version for 73.1 to 66.6.

My alignment guy had a set of aluminum hubcentric rings laying around and they fit my car perfect so he gave them to me. Right now I only have them on the rears, fronts are very smooth. Next time I remove the fronts I will add the rings though. Dealing with some vibrations in the rear due to the tires not sitting perfectly on the wheels. Waiting on two new tires to come in and see how they fit. Currently, I get a small amount of vibration (maybe it's just my butt feeling things..) above 80 mph.

I went and ordered the plastic, didn't want to worry about the aluminums seizing to the hub or wheel. I figured when I track on rare occasions, I can just buy another set of aluminum for that day since they are cheap enough.

I have a G20 (my G80 is on the way, ordered in February ) with TE37SL's, same bolt pattern and hub as the G80. I did end up putting on hub centric rings. After the initial install of the wheels/tires, I noticed that the steering wheel would shake at certain speeds, making the car feel pretty unstable. I installed some lightweight aluminum hub centric rings from Amazon and BOOM, all was fixed.

I just picked up the new tires from the shop and dropped them off with my wheel guy who will mount and balance.
This time, the spec I got says "NO" at the end and seem to be more square / wider than the ones I have mounted on the wheels and will be removing - those have a "MO1" on the side. Apparently, the first ones are a Mercedes spec, and these are Maserati. I don't think Discount Tire knows that they gave me different tires, but hopefully these are a better fit. From what I could see on FISH22's wheels, these should be like his and look more square. I'll say this, retail shops suck at balancing tires. I don't trust Discount Tire to mount and balance my stuff on this car. Second note: I have my oem 285 tires up front, zero vibrations, regardless of speed, and no rings (although I have them, just no need to mount them right now and remove the wheels).

Maybe I’ll end up with the N0 but my speculation is Porsche made the side wall thicker to compensate for the weight for rear motor. Can’t speak for performance or thread life though.

Here's a comparison to show what I mean. Front is square (OEM), rear is "stretched" - I believe the surface area that touches the road is actually smaller / narrower than the P0 ones.
