this is what he wrote me a while ago to explain why we're being pushed ahead (delayed) into the production process compared to what was planned.

..problem is that the "planned CW" get only really fixed, when the order becomes part of the order pipeline with internal status 1000. This fixed period is always the actual day + the next 6. At the moment (because of cancelling of 6 shifts next week monday-wednesday for lack of components) this fixed area has a range until 29th sept. All later isn't really fixed, could be shifted. But your planned CW is 40, so I think there is hope (perhaps 3 days delay because of the cancelled shifts next week)

So Munich plant have only 1 working shift per day next monday-tuesday, wednesday due to the shortage, and the production output is significantly reduced.

I think that this one will be the most "wanted and waited" BMW ever for all of us.

So if I understand correctly next week Thursday 23rd September, builds until 5th October will be fixed internally right? So if our status is still 112/week 40 on Thursday 23rd September then we should be part of the pipeline?

So if we are lucky, our build could start Thursday 30th September (4 days before Monday 4th October)

PS: I just checked BMW Genius again, still week 40 / 112 (I am checking twice a day now lol)

When did you place your order?
I was originally week 37 but bumped to 38.

I don't think it's the Exec or Parking package that's causing the delay... maybe the carbon buckets?

I just checked this morning and I have VIN number now and it is actually more accurate to my initial build week told by genius a few weeks ago. Build week 42...

That's awesome congrats! Surely that means you're build week 37 or 38 not 42?

I was told 42 then 38 so I don't know what to believe at this juncture. I'm just glad to have a status 150. The other dealership was Jenkins my chain so I went across the river and got a allocation right away from the sister dealership. They are a lower volume dealership but sell more M cars than other so I was kicking myself for not going there before.

I just called BMW genius again because my car moved from scheduled for production to order received yesterday. I had been previously told I was a week 40 production. I asked for an explanation and was told that I am still a week 40 production and the reason I was moved from scheduled to order received was because some options were received and the others will be received now. My order is BSM with full Fiona red interior, executive package, carbon fiber trim, ventilated seats, LED’s with laser light and M shadowline lights. Not sure what will happen now.

You're only checking twice a day? Man, you make me feel pathetic. I check it all day. Luckily I'm still at 112, but it feels like I'm walking through a minefield

Got this answer from BMW Genious Team today;
"Your 2022 BMW M4 Competition xDrive Convertible is estimated to begin production the week of October 11, 2021 (week 41). Please note, all dates are estimates and subject to change."

I checked MyBMW now and see I am back at 112!

No no you're not pathetic. As soon as my friend is able to give me some infos, I share them with you all guys. Genius isn't always able to give us a certain answer about when our order will be taken into production, that's why I'm asking my friend in Munich to give us some updates, knowing that the supply chain is suffering a lack of components in this period.

My VIN doesn't appears at the moment. To me they're making the US cars firstly, if we have fortune...EU cars will be at the bottom of the week. Finger crossed.

To be honest I think luckylingy has had his build pulled forward to week 38.

I am fairly confident week 40 builds won't switch to 150 until another 1 or 2 weeks

I just checked 1 minute ago and it said, "production begins" on mybmw, and i have a VIN!!!!!

I'm so freaking excited!

Wait, if it says production begins for me, does that mean i'm not week 40 anymore? Because genius told me 3 weeks ago i'm week 40.
