Looks like everyone is getting wheels!

I just picked up a super clean 80 Series Collector’s Edition Land Cruiser.

Bonus: found Top Gun soundtrack cassette. ”Take my breath awayyyyy....”

Didn't buy but was a B-day gift. Now
the question is open the box or just keep it as-is.

Keep as is.

My dad used to have a HUGE collection of sports trading cards, all from that era. I wonder where they all are, I'm sure he didn't throw them away, going to have to ask him this weekend when I see him

Check the value but most baseball cards don’t have nearly the value the once did (and probably never will). Unless rare and worth a lot already, I’d probably open and tear through them to feel young again for a few minutes. Then again, it’s a complete set so you already know what you have.

I still have some, mostly from the 1970s and early 1980s, in plastic sheets in binders in our guest room closet. Few good ones too, like Eddie Murray, Ozzie Smith and Roger Clemens RC. I also have a 1975 Carlton Fisk card that I wrote “Very good player” on when I was 7 years old. Last time I looked at values, it wasn’t worth dealing with selling them. So in the closet they sit. I sold thousands of them when I was 16 and wanted a car.

I have a small collection of baseball cards from the early and mid 80s. I'd do something with them but just never do.

I have/used to have, I don't remember if I traded it or not, Billy Ripken's "FUCK FACE" card. That was my favorite.

Dyson lightcycle Morph. Needed better lighting for where I work in the house some days, and got a pretty good deal for this overpriced light. Used it yesterday and it was a game changer for being able to see what I wrote and didn't find myself sitting in the dark since it automatically adjusted when the sun went down.

I love watches in general, but hate wearing them. But with this one, it's different. Really comfy.

I am currently looking at 82" and 85" TV options from Sony and Samsung. This exact model is on my short list.
Which size did you get? How are you enjoying it so far?

I bought a 75" and while I haven't been able to get a calibrator over to dial it in perfectly, I'm very happy with the performance out of the box. I bring up out of the box performance because that's a significant differentiation between Sony and Samsung; where Sammy's have a greater "need" to be calibrated as they don't seem be be as close to "correct" straight out the box as a Sony XBR. I'm also completely happy with the 950H's motion handling.

Be aware that TV technology is pivoting towards HDMI 2.1 that will be prevalent in 2021 models. I'd put the purchase off for 6-12 months for next year's models if you have the luxury (I didn't), and care enough. Expect to see new sets debuted in January, with shipments starting in Q1 sometime. Just be careful not to get tunnel vision about HDMI 2.1 in 2020 models... Sony offers this capability on their lower 900H model, but I contend the 950H is a better choice anyway as the 900H lacks Sony's best X1 Ultimate processor like the 950H.

Prices on TVs are refreshed every week (Sunday), so without having access to the closely-guarded pricing schedule price is a bit of a gamble. Black Friday and the Christmas shopping season is when TVs are priced the lowest, with some close out promotions around the Super Bowl being the second-best time to find a low price.

I suggest to my friends that they buy a TV from someplace with a favorable return policy, as every individual unit can have slightly different panel performance and you want to be protected if there's dead pixels or other visible imperfections. If you're not going to choose a custom integrator to white glove the sale and installation, I suggest Amazon or BestBuy because *I think* they make exchanges easy. If your set is simply delivered to your door closely inspect the shipping carton for damage before accepting delivery. Do not blindly sign without inspecting!!!!!

Hope this helps.
