any idea when the US configurator will go live?

If I had to build one:
Isle of Man Green +500
CF Seats - $3800
CF exterior - $4700

$81K oof

I think its time for me to pick up a 997 before the tuners ruin them with the RWB treatment and drive the prices up even further lol

My guess is that we’ll have the Covid vaccine before such this apparently much more complex task can be completed.

That being said, psychologically it's way easier for me to fork out 50-60k on a car then $73k +options+tax. Especially when the C8 has a theoretical price of $60k and would be a much more fun toy and a track monster. Interesting article on how much GM is losing on the base cars:

https://www.thesupercarblog.com/gm-l...l-c8-corvette/
In summary, the M2 is what the M3 used to be, the M3 is what the M5 used to be and the M5 is a floating rocket ship that happens to corner rather well. The only problem with the BMW formula is that the base price point has been invaded by superb competition and literally dragged down by immense weight. I agree the M2 is looking dated, but I think it's looking dated in the way the E46 looked dated when the E92 arrived. In the long run, the E46 has arguably aged much better. I think the F87 will fare the same vs. the G87, as the G87 is no E92. All this said, one thing remains, at least for the M2, it's fun. Silly fun!

Does anyone know approximately how many pounds I will save on my M3 comp if I get:

- CF Bucket Seats,
- Fully Forged M Performance Wheels
- CF Rear Diffuser

And *don't* get:

- Full leather
- Executive Package
- Driver's Assistance Package
- Any ad-hoc options included in the above packages

?

My base 6mt build is between $77k and $80k (basically debating on whether or not I go full carbon buckets or standard seats w/ ventilation). I can make a case for either... The only other variable missing is whether or not I add the port-installed M-performance H.A.S kit.

My spec would be
M3 competition 72800
Isle of Man Green 550
Executive package 3000
Parking assistance 800
Carbon Trim 1080
X drive package?
Exterior CF package no thanks( after market )
Carbon F bucket seats (maybe or maybe not) I don't track. Not really practical.
M performance GOLD wheels. Maybe under 4k?
Shadow light trim $300
Destination and handling 995

Hopefully will come out less than 84k plus 6-10% discount from the dealer.

most likely yes, I'm sure I'll be fine in those seats

I just looked at Porsche prices, and 3-5 year old 911s can be had for about $75k.

These seats are in every picture you can find of the cars. I want to know what the non CF competition seats look like?

Massive downgrade in looks and unknown upgrade in comfort. Luckily the word will be out for real world driving comfort before I’ll pull the trigger on the AWD G82

Pricing is very good.
For M3 comp - my only options would be Executive Pack and Metallic paint. That would be a few grand less than my F80 Comp with DCT.

I would do Blue or Black Exterior with the base Yas Marina Blue leather.

Is CF interior trim not standard anymore?

Personally, I'd stay with the standard seats. The carbon seats are too hardcore for how I'd use the car, but I'm glad they're available. Perhaps if I was only driving 5k-10k miles a year I'd choose differently.

Honestly, I don't think you're compromising as a DD or for canyon carving. The seats really look like the M5/8 seats, which hold you pretty well. The added benefit of ventilation and extra padding makes it a great option for long cruises

Thats what I'm hoping for too but I suspect it will be a year or more before discounts. I am priming my local dealer now as I've purchased 8 of my 13 BMWs in the past.

Anyone considering a lease just until the X drive comes out? I keep telling myself I don't want a car payment again but if I'm keeping it i want the x drive and I'm an impatient prick who will be there for an oil change and drive off with a car he doesn't need.

Only thing I'm really not sure about is the Carbon Pack. The thought of knowing it's going to be my daily and those parts are exposed at the bottom...doesn't sit right with me. Maybe paint protection film on it? Commute is only 10 mins lol but I do go out of town often.

Do wish the wheels were 20" all around but I'm going to change them anyways 🤷🏾*♂️ HRE or whatever wheel company has the look I'm going for.

Other than that. It's really not that bad in my opinion pricing wise. We'll see what I can get the bottom line to after loyalty and just negotiations 😅.
Same spec I would have, except for Dravit instead of IoM Green.

My guess is less than 50lbs.

The car is heavy no matter what, so don’t worry about the weight of the options and just pick what will give you pleasure.
