In the german pricelist, Frozen Portimao Blue and Frozen Brilliant White have their own option codes starting with X. The other three all share the 490 Individual option code. Also, those three are not available in the online configurator, though I'm not sure whether that's usual or not for 490 Individual color options.

If I'm reading correctly, the base model only comes with 6MT and competition model only comes with AT. Driving assistant professional is not available on base models because you cannot do full ACC with a MT. Same is the remote engine start.

Right. The upside is that you're sure not to have that off-center ACC sensor on the 6MT. But you can also easily avoid it on the Competitions models if you don't spec the Driving Assistant Professional.

I’m hoping the CA of you who order early in the US will be able to get this information from HQ. What make three of the colors have special treatment and why are they omitted in the US guides when included in Canada, Europe and Aussie?

Can it be that they can’t be mixed with certain options?

Everyone is rushing to include the CF seats in their build, but unless your car is a garage queen or your commute is less than 5 mi then may yes you can order these seats. To me they make the car less practical. Look at this pic How you gone get in or out You need to be max 120 lbs to use 'em

C8 is looking better by the minute. I am not sure I can justify over $90 for the options I want on a M3. I love BMW's. Own 4 currently. I might go back in time for an older Alpina possibly. Less everything 🤷*♂️

Does anyone know what option code "1MB" (M Drive Professional) is for $900? How about the difference to "7ME" (M Drivers Package) for 2500? I assume the 7ME is the drift analyzer and variable stage traction control... but then what is the 1MB?

Lol, BMW is a German automaker, they don’t make seats that doesn’t fit adult Germans. You’ll be doing great as for fit. My guess is that if you are on the wrong side of 36” waist you won’t like them and at 34” safest to try them first.

wow just used the pricing guide to price out the MSRP on these launch edition m3/m4s and it's $98k/$100k. If the lease program is anything close to the current 3 series and 4 series, we are talking $1200-$1300/month payments on leases with typical inception fees...

Pretty insane...cheaper than a 911 but still insane

“Launch Edition”? Are you talking about the HEA cars?

It's the CF seats and CF exterior package that kills ya! Lucky you don't want either! I applaud your discipline

$72,800 M3 Comp
$550 Isle Of Man Green
- Kyalami Orange Leather
$800 Parking Assistance
$3000 Exec Pack (sheesh)
-19"/20" M double spoke black wheels
-M Brakes W/ Red
$300 Shadowline lights
$950 Carbon Fiber Trim
$4700 M Carbon Exterior Pack
$995 destination

———————————-
$84,095

Only thing I'm really not sure about is the Carbon Pack. The thought of knowing it's going to be my daily and those parts are exposed at the bottom...doesn't sit right with me. Maybe paint protection film on it? Commute is only 10 mins lol but I do go out of town often.

Do wish the wheels were 20" all around but I'm going to change them anyways 🤷🏾*♂️ HRE or whatever wheel company has the look I'm going for.

Other than that. It's really not that bad in my opinion pricing wise. We'll see what I can get the bottom line to after loyalty and just negotiations 😅.

2021 BMW M3 and M4 Pricing Guides

72,800 M3 Comp
$1950 Dravit Grey
$ 2750 Silverstone full leather
$800 Parking Assistance
$3000 Exec Pack (sheesh)
-19"/20" M double spoke black wheels
-M Brakes Blue
$950 Carbon Fiber Trim
$4700 M Carbon Exterior Pack

I want to see the Brooklyn Grey and sit in the Carbon Bucket Seats and I may change some stuff around. I can always get rid of exterior package and add seats if they are comfortable.

They have that exactly, it's called an M2, which delivers much more bang for the buck, especially considering inflation.

The M2 exterior styling just doesn't have the same appeal to me. I think it looks a bit dated. I was hoping the next gen would grab my attention, but I have not been thrilled by the spy shots. Other than that, yes the M2 has become what the M3 used to be.

$50k in 2002 is about $72k today. The real deal, despite it's age is the M2C (not biased because I have one on order, still contemplating a G80). At $61,645, this equates to about $42,500 in 2002, or a then-loaded 330Ci coupe. If anything, the cars are actually a value today.

That being said, other costs (housing, healthcare, insurance, energy in some states) have risen more than inflation, and some costs have appeared and crept from where they didn't really exist before. How many people spent $200-300 a month on cell phones, Starbucks coffee and extraneous subscription services 20 years ago? Combine this with the fact that people generally are tied to dollar figures. I'm not terribly old, and I remember when a "base 911" was $75k. You can't get one for $100k today. It's not the car, it's all the other crap!
Both you guys are right, strictly speaking from an inflation perspective. Back then I couldn't afford an M3 but would do anything to buy one, and now I can easily afford one but question if it's worth the $80-90k on a depreciating asset.

That being said, psychologically it's way easier for me to fork out 50-60k on a car then $73k +options+tax. Especially when the C8 has a theoretical price of $60k and would be a much more fun toy and a track monster. Interesting article on how much GM is losing on the base cars:
