I really hope so but the member who spotted the prices in Belgium noticed a 5k euro up charge on the AWD G8X. As we know Euro and US pricing are not comparable in many areas so let’s not make too much of it yet.

That's what scares me, the price (+) of the "M" X Drive. I'm sure it's more than $2k but hopefully not more than $3k!

My build is right about $83k without X Drive and I don't want to go over $85k for an M3!

So far pricing has been a very positive surprise so odds are it won’t be that bad but until we know I’m using $5k when comparing to other cars I’m interested in and when budgeting for the G82.

It might be that, in Belgium, the RWD model has less standard equipment while the AWD model will come more loaded up. I honestly don’t know what comes standard in Belgium, but I don’t think there is any info about standard equipment on the AWD model anywhere in the world yet, so it’s not guaranteed any early pricing can be directly compared to the price for the RWD model in that particular market.

Of course, it could also be that they really do charge 5K Euro just for AWD in Belgium which, as a percentage of the base price, would indeed seem to be excessive.

Here in North America, looking at what’s standard and what’s optional on the RWD models, it seems unlikely the AWD model will be spec’d with more equipment by default. If that’s the case, I suspect that it’ll be less than $3K more than the RWD model.

As do I but nevertheless the Belgium up charge is so far the only datapoint we have so until we have the US number it has some weight to me. I do expect it to be lower here but won’t count on it.

What is your spec? I just can't help adding the CF appearance pkg and seats. It's basically at $88K and with taxes, it's going to be the low 90s...woozah, that's one expensive base M3 lol.

Gotta wait for those dealer discounts to come in after year 1.

$72,800 M3 Competition
$ 550 Brooklyn Grey (or other metallic)
$ 800 Parking Assistance Pkg
$ 3,000 Executive Pkg
$ 950 Carbon Fiber Trim
$ 4,700 M Carbon Exterior Pkg
$ 950 Destination & Handling
-------------
$83,750

Plus the price of AWD I'm guessing $3k.

I'm not sure what the individual shadowline lights ($300) are, so that may be added, and I might add the front ventilated seats ($350).

I personally am not happy with the entry level pricing and "forced" options. Back in early 2000's entry price was under 50k, and the M3 used to be by far the best deal.

Now there is way more competition and the entry price is much higher. They should have at least a base/track oriented version at 62k stripped down. A true M3 "pure".

Indeed, they are very "proud" of their base price. I guess that's why I was impressed that there are so many things included for the price.

Very annoyed that I'm forced to get a power tailgate and other weight adding options just to get the better looking laser lights.

I agree and can’t argue that, especially in light of the unprecedented low inflation since the last housing bust. However relative to my plan B options the G8X base price and that of packages and options I’m very pleasantly surprised with these lists.

Does the carbon exterior package ADD anything (ie, front lip, rear spoiler, etc), or does it just replace those existing gloss black pieces with carbon ones?

It replaces the gloss black parts with CF parts (diffuser, mirror caps, rear spoiler) and replaces the lower mesh grill in the front bumper with CF inserts.

Overpriced at $4700 IMO but I think I'll still get it.

Sure is, especially if the standard seats has the same type of shell as the F8X. Because race car, weight or whatever but the result is that the F8X plastics on the seat shell and lower door sides make the car feel cheap, it feels like varnished cardboard. The shell of these CF seats certainly will address that and more

I was more surprised to find the M3 and M4 Competition models in the same guide while the base 6MT models aren’t here at all. They may be coming in a separate guide but that’s still a different way of grouping them compared to all other M models AFAIK.
So I should move on from my Frozen Orange choice given I have a very early allocation?

It’s not looking good for FO and FDG for early builds is it? Unfortunately, you probably will have to choose a different color, yes. Time for plan B. If it turns out FO is available by the time you put in the order, you could always go back to plan A.

It stands to reason that if that are limiting the options they are not likely to approve a fire orange order. Thanks.

Agree. I don’t think we should expect fully customized Individual orders (i.e. for interior/exterior colors not listed in the standard order guide) to be available for a good while yet. Maybe MY2022.

There is some possibility that some of those colors will not ever be available to the US market (at least without the 5k+ full individual), in general we more curated option lists. I don't want that to be the case......

Certainly possible, but very unlikely given North America is bigger than all other M Markets combined in terms of sales.

I'm stuck here. I either hate or am thoroughly bored by every color. I would consider SPY but NOT without seeing it in person.

Could a potential revision to the guide be upcoming? I mean, the Canadian pricing guide has Frozen Orange (albeit under options instead of the color selection). I apologize, I know I'm beating a dead horse here.
