People mention move to Porsche, but I like the practicality of 4 doors and boot space (unless panamera of course)
The Panamera doesn't come with a manual gearbox.
So either you get 4 doors, or a manual 911, or both by sticking with BMW.

Is this the new m5?
Sorry boys, im out on this one.
Perfect summary except the M5 comes with a V8FTW

The side by side pictures remind me of how on day 1 of the F80 launch I knew I had to have one! Not the case with the G80.

To me, the F80 is like the middle child between the E9x and the G80. Kinda like the E36 was to the E30 and E46. New engine respectively, and was overall fine tuned by the next model with the same type of engine (inline 6 and inline 6 turbo respectively).

Its a fun car, but won't be a classic imo, but thats my reasoning why it won't be a classic.

Screw that.
Better get an an X3M or X4 and call it a day. Good performance, good DD and more lenient and better in terms of design.
In my opinion this is a FAILURE.
All this

LOL. That's cute, hun. The entire F lineup of M cars will go down as a low point in BMW history. The departure from NA, hydraulic steering, anything remotely good sounding, etc with each successive model building and improving on this new formula. Bless!

Oh hey look, someone let the E92 brigade in. Don't you guys have some rod bearings or throttle valve actuators to change?

BTW, the M3 lineage goes like this: E30 good, E36 bad, E46 good, E92 bad, F80 good, G80 really baaaaaad

The LCI F8x does not look dated lol, especially when equipped with adaptive headlights... my LCI E92 barely looks dated.....besides if the G8x is what the future looks like then idk

I unloaded my 2015 F80 DCT late last year. While I enjoyed much of what the car provided, every time I went near a magazine or car website I was inundated with opinions and reviews trying to convince me that I owned the worst M car ever, and that the G series would finally restore honor to the badge. Mine had a ton of electrical issues that BMW was never able to solve, and when the warranty expired I drove it straight to a Tesla dealership and drove home in a 2020 Model 3 performance.

I wondered if the G series M would make me regret my decision. It's pretty clear I made the correct choice.

I'm ok with that actually, the 6MT will pull just as hard all the way to 6130rpm whereas the 8AT will start decaying at 5500rpm. I think you'll find that makes the 6MT feel better at high rpm as it will decay less. Check out the specs for the M3 and M4 here, the last page of the shows the difference
